Marcus Whitman kicked off its season with a convincing 11-4 victory over Gananda-Marion in a Finger Lakes game held at Richard Mann Elementary. The Wildcats established their dominance early, leading 2-0 in the first quarter and expanding the gap with a five-goal surge in the second. Helen Snyder led Marcus Whitman with four goals, Sophia Snyder contributed two goals and two assists, and eighth-grader Aubriella Bowman netted three goals, including the first of her varsity career.

The defensive backbone of Marcus Whitman's victory was Sydney Shaw, who made 11 saves and posted an impressive 73% save rate across 48 minutes.
