Thomas Overcomes Schroeder

In a hard-fought Monroe County lacrosse game on Wednesday, Thomas defeated its cross-town rival by a score of 7-4. Schroeder's offense was led by Lola Wambach, who had two goals and an assist. Molly Meyer and Olivia Schrage each added a goal. Goaltender Maura Ugine recorded seven saves, achieving a 50% save rate over 48 minutes of play.

For Thomas, Molly Slack led the scoring with two goals. Madison Slack, Brynn Becker, Harper Blakley, Carly Fitch, and Sadie Eisenhart had one goal apiece; Madison Slack's goal was the first of her varsity career. Olivia Bottoni contributed two assists. Brooklyn Ta stood out on defense with two caused turnovers and three ground balls, and Leah Trombley caused three turnovers as well. Morgan Weber had five saves.

With the win, Thomas evens its record at 3-3, while Schroeder (0-6) remains winless on the season. The Warriors look to bounce back in their upcoming game against Aquinas-WOIS on Friday, while Thomas will host Clarence (Section VI) on Saturday.     [ Story and BOX SCORE
