Gates Chili earned its first victory of the season, taking a 9-7 decision over Brockport in a Monroe County game on Thursday night. The teams were tied at five at halftime but the Spartans outscored the Blue Devils four goals to two in the second half to claim the victory. Molly McJury led Brockport (2-5) with four goals, and Jessica Maher had 11 saves. Gates Chili (1-5) did not submit a statistical report by post-time.

Both teams take to the road for their next games, with the Blue Devils visiting Eastridge/BK on Friday and the Spartans traveling to Honeoye Falls-Lima for a contest against the Cougars on Monday.
