Penfield Pulls Away Late to Defeat Canandaigua

In a Monroe County matchup under the Friday night lights, Penfield overcame a determined Canandaigua squad to secure a 12-4 victory on the road. The game was close through three quarters before Penfield pulled away with five goals in the final frame.

For Penfield (6-2), Peyton Rothfuss had yet another outstanding performance in a season of outstanding performances, accounting for six goals and 12 draw controls. Jenna Capozzi added three goals for the Patriots. Karis Hand made 10 saves for a 71% save percentage in 48 minutes.

Leah Sheridan led the Gray Wolves with two goals, while Taylor Ennis-Chinn and Nola Weaver each chipped in one. Canandaigua's record now stands at 5-3.
