Marcus Whitman Prevails
In an evenly matched Finger Lakes game, Marcus Whitman edged Newark-Midlakes 14-12 on Monday evening. The Wildcats scored four consecutive goals in the fourth quarter to break a 10-10 tie. Sophia Snyder and Aubriella Bowman led Marcus Whitman with four goals apiece. Helen Snyder added three goals and two assists, and Raegan Weissinger tallied two goals and one assist. Sydney Shaw anchored the defense with 12 saves, recording a 50% save rate.
For Newark-Midlakes, Zoey Overslaugh (5g), Thea Lewis (4g/1a), and Jamie Lawson (2g/2a) led the scoring. Goalie Maggie Lynch made nine saves in 48 minutes of play.
