Rush-Henrietta Over Canandaigua
In a tight Monroe County matchup on Wednesday night, Rush-Henrietta edged Canandaigua 10-8. Trailing 7-6 at halftime, the Royal Comets outscored the Gray Wolves 3-1 in the third quarter to take a lead which they never relinquished.
Leading the attack for Rush-Henrietta (8-3) were Danielle Garrett (1g/3a), Kate DeWald (3g), and Riley Brown (2g/1a). Kate DeWald and Taylee Bernarduci combined for 14 draw controls. Taylor Potwin had eight saves to help secure the win.
For Canandaigua (5-7), Leah Sheridan and Keira Gioseffi each scored two goals. Samantha Lupton added two goals and an assist, and Aviana Nelson recorded seven saves.
The Royal Comets travel to Spencerport Friday to take on the Rangers. The Gray Wolves look ahead to a road game against South Jefferson (section III) on Saturday. [ Story and BOX SCORE]
