Fairport Defeats Canandaigua in Overtime

Fairport edged Canandaigua 6-5 in a Monroe County game on Friday night. The Red Raiders tied the game on a goal by Brenna Goss with three minutes left in regulation, and Ellie Miller scored the game-winner off a feed from Lily Kondas 40 seconds into overtime. It was the Red Raiders' seventh consecutive win.

Lily Kondas led Fairport (10-5) with two goals and an assist. Ellie Miller also had two goals, and Brenna Goss and Camryn DuBose chipped in one goal each. Marisa Test recorded eight saves for a 62% save rate in 48 minutes of play.

For Canandaigua (5-10), Leah Sheridan had two goals and Nola Weaver added a goal and an assist. Nola Weaver also led the Gray Wolves with four draw controls, the fourth of which was the 100th of her varsity career. Like her Fairport counterpart, Aviana Nelson was superb in the net, finishing with nine saves, including the 100th of her career.

Both teams will play their final regular season games next week. The Red Raiders host Victor on Wednesday, while the Gray Wolves will visit Spencerport on Thursday.    [ Story and BOX SCORE
