Eastridge Modified Coach

POST SEASON TOURNAMENTS
After the regular season, there are several championship opportunities for teams that qualify. First up are the Section Five Tournaments for four classes (A-B-C-D).
Opening Day
The first game day of the season kicked off for Section Five with two games. Brockport defeated Livonia 7-6 and Brighton defeated Mercy 11-9.
RH defeats CNS in out of section play
RH played CNS (Syracuse) today in the only contest. The Royal Comets defeated the Northstars 18-12. Scoring is expected tomorrow. When updated, stats can be found HERE.
Brighton Defeats Pal-Mac
Brighton scored the first three goals and eight of the first ten in their 11-5 win over Pal-Mac. The Barons were dominate on offense and strong on defense during the entire 50 minute contest. Brighton Defenseman Eileen Kelly was a standout force on the field. She recorded 5 caused turnovers including a pair of single pressure takes with just her vs. the Pal-Mac ball carrier. She was joined by Hayley Zielinski, Piper Davis and Brogan Holbrough to keep the Pal-Mac offensive from being able to turn up the pressure.
Wednesday Has Three Games
There were three scheduled games tonight. Brighton defeated Pal-Mac 11-5, Baldwinsville defeated Rush-Henrietta 12-6 and Waterloo defeated Aquinas 14-9.
Athletes Wanted for NYS Tournament Team
The Western New York sub-division of US Lacrosse is looking for players who are currently in grades 9-11 who want to try out for the US Lacrosse Nation Tournament team.
Penfield Defeats Irondequoit
Penfield scored nine goals in the first half on their way to a 12-7 win over Irondequoit. The Eagles had six different players make their offensive scorebook with Bridget Inclema leading the pack with 2g-1a. Erika Sherwood (1g-1a) and Maddie Verhagen (1g-1a) also added to the totals. Leading in DCs was Maira Brennan (3). Rebeca McGwin led in ground balls with six. Additional stats can be found HERE.
Biggest Night of the Year with Six Games
Moving into the next couple weeks, we will see a lot more than six games a night; however, tonight is the current champion with six contests. The closest match-up was Baldwinsville's 6-5 overtime win over Brighton. Churchville-Chili also won a single goal game with their 7-6 win over Greece Storm. The remaining games were Eastridge over Gananda 10-3, Mercy over Mt. St. Mary 21-7, Mynderse-Romulus over Aquinas 16-3 and Pal-Mac over Livonia 16-2.
Six Games Vs. Out of Town Opponents
Today, there were six games that were all played against out of Section opponents. The closest contest was Chenango Forks' 10-9 win over Waterloo and Aquinas' 13-12 win over Mt. St. Mary. Additional scores were Spencerport over Corning 16-13, Canandaigua over Skaneateles 7-5, Penfield over Hamburg 18-0 and Pal-Mac over Lancaster 20-12.
End of Week #1
There were 19 matches played in the opening week of games. There was a single overtime game this week with Baldwinsville defeating Brighton 6-5. There were four additional games that were decided by a single goal. There are still 13 teams that have yet to play their season opener and look to their first games this week
