New Rules in Place for 2016
Entering the 2016 season there have been a number of rule changes made by US Lacrosse (which is endorsed by the National Federation of State High School Associations). Along with a number of minor play changes and equipment changes there are three noteworthy changes for the upcoming season.
2015 All-Greater Rochester
The 2015 All Greater Rochester list was published at the end of the season and Webster Thomas senior Emily Resnick was named the 2015 Player of the Year by the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle. All told, sixteen players were noted on the list. Leading the charge were players from Churchville Chili, Victor, Pittsford and Irondequoit with two players each.
Thirty-Three Teams in 2015
There are currently thirty-three teams play in the Section. They are divided among three classes that compete for Sectional championships and later, the New York State tournaments. Generally, schools with 1,050 or more students are in Class A (9 teams). Schools with 650 to 1,049 are in Class B (9 teams) and schools with less than 650 are in Class C (14 teams).
Pittsford Earns Fifth Straight Win
Pittsford (12-3) won its fifth consecutive game. Maura Ugine had 10 saves for Schroeder (3-11).
