2023 Season Wrap Up
There were thirty teams playing Varsity Girls Lacrosse in Section V. Bishop Kearney scheduled nine games but elected to forgo the tournament at the end of the season. There were 674 players on the final rosters. Irondequoit and Mercy carried the largest roster with twenty-seven players and Eastridge with the smallest with fifteen.

Fairport and Victor are Champions
DAY IN REVIEW: SATURDAY - Both Victor and Fairport won their NYSPHSAA Championships at Hofstra University today. For Fairport it was their first title as they won in double overtime, It was a repeat for Victor who won in 2022.
Fairport and Victor Move On to Championship Day
DAY IN REVIEW: FRIDAY - Fairport and Victor both punched their tickets to the Championship round on Saturday. The Red Raiders beat Suffern 8-7 and the Blue Devils had an 18-5 win against Bethlehem. HF-L fell to John Jay and Penn Yan lost to Bronxville.
Next Up: Championships - Semi-finals
Next up for the Section V Champions are the NYS Semi-finals, which will be held two different venues in the Cortland Area. Classes B and C will play at SUNY Cortland (White Field). Classes A and D will be held at Cortland High School.
Saturday: Clean Sweep of Westerns
DAY IN REVIEW: SATURDAY - Section V teams won all four games today at Clarence High School and they will advance to the semi-finals on Championship Weekend at Cortland on June 9th.
Next Up: Western Regionals
Next up for the Section V Champions are the NYS Western Regionals, which are hosted this year by Section VI at Clarence High School.

The NYS Tournaments start with the Western Regionals to be held at Clarence High School (Section VI) this year.
Victor in 4 OT and HFL in Regulation
DAY IN REVIEW: WEDNESDAY - The last two Champions were crowned tonight as HFL won their title with at 15-6 win over Pal-Mac and Victor defeated Irondequoit 8-7 in the fourth overtime paeriod.
Fairport Wins Class A in OT - Penn Yan Wins in Class D
DAY IN REVIEW: TUESDAY - The first day of the Section V championships ended today with an Overtime win for Fairport and a 12-4 win for Penn Yan.
Thursday: Overtime Thriller Gives Irondequoit Win over CA
DAY IN REVIEW: THURSDAY - In an exciting overtime game, Irondequoit (#4) beat Canandaigua (#1) 6-5 setting up the Eagles to play Victor, who defeated Spencerport in the championship in Class B. In Class C tonight, Pal-Mac won their game with Geneva and HFL (#3) won their game with Geneva (#2) setting them up for the Championship game on May 31st at East Rochester.
Wednesday: Top Seeds Win in A and D
DAY IN REVIEW: WEDNESDAY - The top seeds won out in the semi-finals as Penn Yan, Waterloo-Marcus Whitman, Rush-Henrietta and Fairport won.
Ticket Prices for Semi-finals and Beyond
The Section V semi-finals will be played on Friday Night and Saturday morning and game will require a digit ticket from this round and all the way through the NYS Championships.
Tuesday: Spencerport #6 defeats Mercy #3 16-11
DAY IN REVIEW: TUESDAY - There were quarter-final games today and in Classes C and the seeds held, so that the top four seeds advance to the semi-finals. Pal-Mac, Aquinas, HF-L and Geneva advance to play at Waterloo on Thursday. In Class B Spencerport, the number 6 seed defeated the number 3 seed, Mercy, 16-11 so the Rangers advance along with Canandaigua, Irondequoit and Victor for their semi-final round at Pittsford Sutherland on Thursday.

2023 Final Sectional Seeding
The Official Sectional Seeding information has been released on GLaxFive and the Section V website.
Saturday: Out Bracket Games Thomas and Eastridge Win
DAY IN REVIEW: SATURDAY - There were two out bracket games played on a very wet Saturday. Thomas went right to work scoring 14 first half goals. The Saints finish their season at 5-12 but there are many nineth and tenth graders who have two or three more seasons.

The tourament seeding is now set and the top seeds determined. In Class A, Rush-Henrietta takes the top seed. In Class B Canandaigua is first and Victor is second. Pal-Mac earned the top seed in Class C and in Class D is is Penn Yan.

Friday: First Game of the Tournaments a One-Goal Game
DAY IN REVIEW: FRIDAY - The Schroeder at Hilton out bracket game was moved from Saturday to Friday and was and exciting one goal game with the Warriors moving on to the quarterfinals.
Thursday: Last Games of the Regular Season
DAY IN REVIEW: THURSDAY - On the last day of the regular season, there were six games and several games were needed to finish the Sectional Tournaments seeding. The tournament brackets will be available on Friday.
Wednesday: Fairport Over CA In Close One
DAY IN REVIEW: WEDNESDAY - Fairport (14-2) defeated Canandaigua (12-4) in a good game at Fairport and Thomas (9-7) had a one goal win over Spencerport (8-7). Pittsford extended their win streak to eight with their defeat of HFL and Penn Yan won their game with Pal-Mac.

DAY IN REVIEW: TUESDAY - There were four games played today. Winners were Wayne, Mynderse-Romulus, Irondequoit, and Aquinas.
Monday: Brighton over HFL by One
DAY IN REVIEW: MONDAY - There were nine games played today. Churchville-Chili won their last game of the regular season as did Livonia-Avon. They will await the tournament seeding at the end of the week. Other winners today included Fairport, Geneva, Penfield and Pal-Mac.
