Two OT Games for Friday Night

There were two games that went to overtime tonight.  Rush Henrietta Junior Gabby Garrett scored the game winning goal in the first overtime period to defeat Canandaigua 9-8 and Whitesboro defeated Waterloo 14-13 in overtime.  Additional games played tonight were Thomas over Mercy 15-8, Irondequoit over Gates Chili 16-3, Greece Storm over Eastridge 12-4, Penfield over Brighton 13-5 and Fairport over HFL 10-8.  Victor travelled to West Genesee to become the third team to face the Wildcats this season; West Genesee defeated Victor 17-3.

RH defeated Canandaigua 9-8 in overtime.  All three of the Royal Comet victories have been single point games so far this season.  However, this was the first to go to overtime.  Gabby Garrett scored her second goal of the night with 0:06 remaining in the first overtime period.  Kate Mashewske finished with a team leading 9 draw controls.  For Canandaigua Megan Hoffman recorded 3g-2a.  With 4:01 remaining in the first half, Canandaigua led 7-1. Waterloo travelled to Whitesboro HS where they fell in overtime to the Warriors 14-13.  Logan Castiglione led in scoring with 3g-3a.  Sam Barnhart (3g-1a) led in draw controls with six.  Additional stats are HERE.

Penfield defeated Brighton 13-5 after leading 6-2 at the half.  The Patriots had four different players record 4 points each: Lucy Rugaber (3g-1a), Torrey Paladinno (1g-3a), Nina Nesselbush (3g-1a) and Morgan Cox (2g-2a).  Brighton was led by Susan Lafountain with 2g.  Additional stats are HERE.

Greece Storm defeated Eastridge 12-4.  The Storm were led by Emily Benham (3g-2a).  Goalie Alexa Martel finished at 50% with 4 recorded saves.  Additional stats are HERE.

Thomas defeated Mercy 15-8.  Mary Soures led the Titans with 6g-1a.  Abby Quinlan (3g-2a) and Cate Robarge (4a) also added to the scoring table.  Soures (7), Kayla Bay (5) and Isabelle Robarge (4) led in draw controls for the Titans.  For Mercy, Kristyn Johnson led with 4g-2a.  Caroline Murphy led in draw controls with 4.  Additional stats are HERE.

Fairport defeated HFL 10-8.  The game was back and forth with seven ties.  Fairport pulled ahead in the final five minutes with the last three goals of the contest.  Cameryn Dera led in scoring with 5g for the Red Raiders.  Additional stats are be HERE.

Irondequoit defeated Gates Chili 16-3.  Marina Butler led in scoring with 1g-4a.  Sarah Vosburg recorded 3 caused turnovers. Additional stats are be HERE.

West Genesee defeated Victor 17-3 to go 3-0 this season against Section Five opponents.  Kylie Gelabertscored all three goals for the Blue Devils.  Additional stats are HERE.
