Geneva Claims Road Win

Geneva defeated Mynderse-Romulus 17-11 in Finger Lakes girls lacrosse action on Saturday. The Panthers took a 9-1 lead in the first quarter and cruised to the win.

Leading the offense for Geneva (9-1) were Allison Marquart (3g/5a) and Velia DeMaria (3g/3a). Meghan Forbes and Makenna Harris also scored three goals apiece. Teagan Cohrs added two goals and one assist, and Natalie Vedora had two goals. Ninth-grader Amelia Williams scored her first varsity goal in the game. In net, Maddie Askin registered eight saves while allowing eight goals for a 50% save rate in 45 minutes.

For Mynderse-Romulus (2-9), Myah Herron had eight goals, including the 150th of her varsity career. Chelsea Korzeniewski recorded one goal and four assists, and Amelia Reese finished with two goals and one assist. Joey Mclean played 18 minutes in goal and saved all four shots she faced for a 100% save rate.

The Panthers will look for their tenth win of the season Monday when they take on Waterloo.The Blue Devils will also be in action on Monday when they host Eastridge/BK.     [ Story and BOX SCORE
