Friday: Fairport and Canandaigua Win

DAY IN REVIEW: FRIDAY - Both Section V teams won their out of section

FAIRPORT-16 at CORNING-10 - Fairport traveled outside of Section V to Corning on this Good Friday, and returned home victorious, after defeating Corning 16-10.  Fairport jumped out to a commanding start and took an 11-5 lead into the half, then held serve in the second half to secure the win.  Ella Peers (3g-4a) led all scorers for the Red Raiders, while Ellie Miller (3g-2a) and Katie Mallaber (2g-3a) each posted 5-point days.  Lily Kondas contributed to the win in all facets of the game, scoring 3 goals, securing 5 Draw Controls, Causing 2 turnovers and picking up 1 Ground Ball.  Fairport will look to remain undefeated tomorrow against Ithaca.      [ BOX SCORE

COLONIE CENTRAL-7 at CANANDAIGUA-18 - The Canandaigua Braves welcomed visiting Colonie from the Albany area, however did not provide a very warm welcome, jumping all over the Garnet Raiders 14-2 in the first half.  The Braves took their foot off the gas in the second half and cruised to an 18-7 victory.  As usual, the Braves offense ran through Hanna Davis (4g-7a), while Liv Schorr (5g-1a) also broke out for 6 points and both Lola Schorr (3g), and Nola Weaver (3g) also posted Hat Tricks.  Canandaigua welcomed back Makenna Crouse for her first game of the season, making an impact on the circle by securing a team high 6 Draw Controls.  Canandaigua will travel to Webster Thomas on April 12 for their next game.     [ BOX SCORE
