Mynderse Wins Season Opener
Mynderse came out to play in today's contest and defeated Midlakes 12-7.With their win tonight, Mynderse moves their 10 year record against Midlakes to 4-17. They have won 3 of the last 4 contests
Two Games on Tuesday
The second day of Section Five Lacrosse ends with Irondequoit and Aquinas defeating their opponents. Both teams led at halftime and held on through the second half for the win.
Irondequoit's Alvarado and Pease Lead Team to Victory
Irondequoit's Kierston Pease (2g-1a) and Celina Alvarado (2g-2a) were instrumental in the Eagles 6-5 victory over Pal-Mac. Pease and Alvardo scored the first four goals to take control of the game.
Mynderse Moves to 2-0 With Win over Greece Ath/Ody
Mynderse defeated Greece Athena/Odyssey with a strong second half performance. The game went into the second half tied 6-6 before Mynderse outscored the Thunder 7-3 in the second half. The only other game scheduled for today was Brighton and Mercy. Due to weather concerns, the game was postponed to a future, yet to be determined date.
Irondequoit moves to 2-0 with win over Penn Yan

The Eagles secured their second win this week with an 8-4 win over Penn Yan. The game was tied 3-3 going into the second half, when the Eagles outscored the Mustangs 5-1. Marcus Whitman scored eight unanswered goals to secure theri first win of the season against Eastridge.
End of Week #1
With four days of games under our belt, six games have been played in Section Five. Mynderse and Irondequoit both won two goals each and are 2-0 going into the second week of the season. See past the break for links to each day's stories.
Out of Section Teams defeat Brighton and Pittsford
Notre Dame Prep (MD) and Bishop Ireton (DC) defeated Pittsford and Brighton this evening. Notre Dame Prep won 15-6 and Bishop Ireton won 19-6.
Out of Section results 1-1 on Wednesday
Pittsford defeated Winter Mills (MD) 13-11 in the first Out of Section win from a Section Five team. In the second game of the night, West Genesee defeated HFL 17-7 for their fifth win over the Cougars in the last 10 years.
Pollack Leads Red Raiders to Victory
Fairport junior Britteny Pollack led in scoring with 4g-3a in Fairport's 19-5 win over Mercy. The Red Raiders had 12 different players make their offensive scorebook for the season opener. Junior midfielder Maddie Howe and senior midfielder Megan Konieczny finished with 3g-1a each. She was also demonstrative at the draw; she finished with six draw controls for Fairport. Mercy seventh graded Sami Carey finished with a hand in each of the five Monarch goals (3g-2a).
Fairport Wins Sole Section Five Game
Fairport defeated Mercy 19-5 in the only inter-Section Five contest. Brighton faced off against George Mason (VA) and Victor faced off against Episocal Academy (PA).
