Class B All Tournament Team

At the conclusion of the Class B Tournament.  Section Five announced the first ever All Tournament Team.  The Team consists of the top 13 players in the Class B Tournament this year.  There are 12 regular spots and an MVP spot. Full Story

Section Five Sweeps State Quarter Finals

Section Five finished with a clean sweep against Section Six in both the girl's tournament and the boy's tournament.  Pittsford defeated Lancaster 19-3 in the first game.  In the Class B game, Victor defeated Hamburg 23-9.  In the final game of the night HFL defeated Lake Shore 12-7 to finish out the sweep.  On the boy's side, Victor, Thomas and Penn Yan all won (see more at SportsFive.net).

Muir Lifts Cougars to State Semis

Caitlin Muir finished with 5g-3a to help lift HFL to a 12-7 win over Lake Shore (Section Six).  Muir's 8 points means she was a part of 8/12 goals for the Cougars.  The Eagles came into the contest tonight previously undefeated at 18-0.  Although the game was closest of the night, HFL scored the first four goals and the Eagles never game closer than two goals. Victor defeats Hamburg to Head to State Semis

Victor scored the opening goal and never trailed in their 23-9 win over Hamburg.  The Bulldogs finished their season at 12-8.  Victor was led in scoring by Emily Hawryschuk (7g-3a), Kaci Messier (6g-3a) and Bridget Flynn (5g-1a).  The three girls combined for 18 of the 23 goals.  One major key to their success came at the draw.  The Blue Devils combined for 24/32 draws.  Claire Herrmann finished with 5 of the 8 draws for the Bulldogs.  She also added 2g-2a.  The big scorer for the Bulldogs was Rebecca Izzo with 4g-1a. 2016 Herb Fitch Senior All Star Game

The Rochester Chapter of USLacrosse has announced the 2016 Herb Fitch Lacrosse All Star Game player selections. This year's contest, featuring some of the best of the graduating seniors will be held on Friday, June 17th at Victor High School. The girls' game will start at 5:00 PM before the boys' play at 7:00 PM.

Tickets for the Senior All Star Games will be $5.00 for adults and $2.00 for students. Concessions will be available.

Finger Lakes End of Season Awards

Finger Lakes end of season awards come in with 24 First and 24 Second Team All County Players.  There are also 22 Honorable Mention Players.  In addition there were 2 All Americans and 2 Academic All Americans.  As well as Co-Defensive Players of the Year, a Midfielder of the Year and an Offensive Player of the Year. Monroe County End of Season Awards have 50 First and 50 Second Team All County Players.  In addition there were 4 All Americans and 4 Academic All Americans.  As well as Defensive Players of the Year, a Midfielder of the Year and an Offensive Player of the Year. Full Story

Sectionals Recap

The 2016 Sectional Tournament concluded with Pittsford (Class A), Victor (Class B) and HFL (Class C) as Champions.  This was the third straight win for the Panthers, the third straight win for the Blue Devils and the fifth straight win for the Cougars. Full Story

One of Three Advance to Finals

Pittsford defeated West Islip (Section 11) 11-5 to secure their spot in the Class A State Finals.  The Panthers will face Christian Brothers Academy (Section 3) tomorrow at 9:30 AM.  If the Panther's succeed they will be the first Class A NYS Champion for Section Five.  Garden City (Section 8) defeated Victor 15-11 to move on and face Yorktown (Section 1) for the Class B Championship.  Mount Sinai (Section 11) defeated HFL 10-3 to move on to face Skaneateles (Section 3) for the Class C Championship. Pittsford Falls to CBA

CBA scored the first four goals and never trailled in their 11-6 win over Pittsford.  The Panthers fought back to 4-3, before CBA scored anther six unanswered.  They led 10-3 late in the second half.  Pittsford scored the next three, but never got closer than four. Full Story

2016 Herb Fitch Senior Games Played Today

The Rochester Chapter of USLacrosse along with the Rochester Knighthawks sponsored the 2016 Senior games for both senior boys and senior girls today at Victor High School. It a warm but beautiful night and a "final game" for the seniors, chosen from throughout Section Five to play in one last high school game. Full Story
