Mary Panepento was the driving force for Wayne behind their 14-11 win over Gates Chili.  She finished with 6g-1a including the final go ahead goal late in the second half.  The Screaming Eagles took an early led to 3-1 before Gates Chili fought back to a 4-4 tie in the first half.  Panepento scored again off a free position goal to take a 5-4 lead before the Spartans scored back to back to take their first and only lead of the game.  Wayne scored the next three to go back and top. 

The Screaming Eagles led 8-6 at the half after a goal by Katie Leaty with an assist from Hannah Burns with 0:28 remaining in the half.  Although the game was tied once more (10-10), the Spartans could never regain the lead.  Panepento also led her team in draw controls (4), ground balls (6) and caused turnovers (3).  Defenseman Bailey Jenkins recorded 3 draws, 4 ground balls and 1 caused turnover in a strong defensive performance.
