Rush-Henrietta Earns First Win of the Season
Rush-Henrietta secured its first victory of the season with an 11-5 win over Thomas in a Monroe County matchup on Saturday. The Royal Comets started strong, scoring four goals in the opening quarter while holding Thomas to one, and maintained control throughout the game.
Senior attacker Danielle Garrett led Rush-Henrietta with three goals and three assists, while Kate DeWald contributed three goals and one assist. Riley Brown added two goals and an assist, and Isabella Artessa, Sofie Kiselgof, and Briea Schlindwein each netted a goal. In goal, junior Taylor Potwin registered 11 saves, finishing the game with a 69% save rate.
The Titans` offense was led by ninth-grader Carly Fitch, who scored two goals, including the first of her varsity career. Sophomore midfielder Brynn Becker also scored her first varsity goal, while Harper Blakley and Jocelin McCann each tallied one. Goalie Morgan Weber recorded six saves.
With the victory, Rush-Henrietta extends its winning streak against Thomas to six games, dating back to 2018. The Royal Comets will face Hilton on Monday, while Thomas looks to rebound against Irondequoit on Tuesday.
