Thomas wins Webster v. Webster Match

Webster Thomas defeated Webster Schroeder in the battle of the Webster High Schools 12-6.  Emily Glagolev turned the tied with three straight goals in just over three minutes.  Glagolev finished with 5g on the night.  Tonight, was the first time back to Titan stadium for Schroeder Head Coach Brian Hanley after moving from Assistant Coach at Thomas to Head Coaching at Schroeder this season.  During the team introductions, he was warmly greeted by his former team.

For the first twenty minutes of the game, it was neck and neck.  Schroeder scored the opening goal with an unassisted drive by Madison Bell only 0:24 into play.  During the contest, Bell recorded her 100th career assist for the Warriors.  Three minutes later and Mary Soures tied the game at 1-1 with an unassisted goal of her own.  The teams traded until about seven minutes remaining when Thomas took over.  The Titans scored six goals in the final seven minutes of the half to move from down by one (5-4) to leading 10-5 at the half.

The second half was a much more defensive battle than the first half.  In total only three goals were scored in the second 25 minutes.  Freshman goalie Jorden Concordia led the defense for Schroeder and held the Titans scoreless until 4:39 remaining in the game.  During that period, she recorded 7 straight saves (she finished with 13 saves on the night).  However, the Warrior offense could not capitalize and only added a single goal in the second half.  Paige Gottorff scored unassisted for the Warriors.

For the Warriors, Payton Lill recorded six draw controls to lead. Madison Bell recorded her 100th career assist.  Concordia added 3 groundballs to her saves to lead Schroeder.
