Back to Back OT Wins for HFL

Kierin Ratliff scored the game winning goal in overtime to lift HFL over Webster Thomas 6-5.  The Cougars have won their last two games in overtime after and 11-10 win over PENFIELD.

Junior attackman Caitlin Muir was the big scorer for the Cougars with 2g-3a.  Brittany Chamberlain added two goals and Bailey Reed added the last goal. HFL started off with a quick goal to take the early lead.  The Titans tied the game shortly thereafter before HFL adding two in quick succession.  Each team added a single goal before the half with HFL lead 3-2 at halftime.

In the second half, Thomas came out quickly and scored back to back goals to take a 4-3 lead.  Reed tied the game with her goal (assisted by Muir) with 4:00 remaining in regulation.  Thomas took the lead for the last time at 1:54 remaining.  The Cougars took the ball down on offense where they called a timeout with less than one minute left.  As time was expiring Chamberlain scored with an assist from Muir to force overtime.

The game was back and forth in overtime with multiple big saves by both goalies.  Eventually Ratliff scored to lift HFL.  The Cougars are now 3-1 with two OT wins and their only loss to Section III powerhouse West Genesee.
