Wednesday: Out Of Section Teams Win by One

DAY IN REVIEW: WEDNESDAY - Two very close games today, but the Section V teams fell as CNS beat Penfield 9-8 and Stoneridge beat Irondequoit in overtime.

PENFIELD-8 at CNS-9 -    Penfield (3-2) hung tough with undefeated section III powerhouse CNS but ultimately fell by a score of 9 to 8.  Peyton Rothfuss (2g), Emma Alexander (1g), Grace Rund (3g), Olivia Lanning (1g), and Reegan Sercu (1g/1a) were the goal scorers for the Patriots, while Emersyn Mathis and Jenna Capozzi contributed two assists apiece.  On the defensive end, Alyson Welz and Sierra Quarterman both excelled in helping the Patriots contain CNS's potent attack.  Penfield will face class A rival Pittsford next Wednesday. IRONDEQUOIT-8 at STONE RIDGE-9 -  In another non-league game, Irondequoit (1-2) took a powerful Stone Ridge (Bethesda, MD) squad to overtime before falling, 9-8.   There were no statistics reported from Irondequoit at post time.  The Eagles return to action next Tuesday when they visit Spencerport.     [BOXSCORE
