Cougars and Mustangs Win and Charge Forward
DAY IN REVIEW: TUESDAY - Section V crowned its class C and class D girls lacrosse champions on Tuesday. In class C, it was No. 3 Honeoye Falls-Lima taking the title, defeating No. 1 Pal-Mac 9-6 in a hard-fought battle, thanks to Harper Jacob’s three-goal performance and a balanced offensive effort. The Cougars advance to take on Lake Shore (section VI) in the sub-regionals. In class D, No. 1 Penn Yan showcased its dominance in a commanding 17-5 victory over No. 2 Waterloo, led by Bailey Cooper, who had five goals and an assist, and Maihue Miranda-Wiltberger, who won 17 draw controls. Penn Yan is now set to face Eden (section VI) in the sub-regionals.
HONEOYE FALLS-LIMA-9 at PAL-MAC-6 - Harper Jacob (3g), Shaye Angelo (2g), Mackinley Buckley (2g/1a), and Jenna Lawrence (2g) led the scoring for No. 3 Honeoye Falls-Lima. Teagan Hudak had five goals for No. 1 Pal-Mac. Up next for Honeoye Falls-Lima is a sub-regional matchup against Lake Shore (section VI) on Thursday at Williamsville South HS. WATERLOO-5 at PENN YAN-17 - Bailey Cooper had five goals and an assist to lead No. 1 Penn Yan. Maihue Miranda-Wiltberger won 17 draw controls to help secure the win. For No. 2 Waterloo, Kinsley Bree led the scoring with two goals and one assist. Waterloo finishes its season at 10-7.
