# 1072  Big Performances Highlight Opening-Day Wins
opener for both teams, Greece Storm came away with the victory. It was the Storm’s sixth consecutive win over the Wildcats dating back to 2018.

Emma Dioguardi had five goals and an assist to lead the Storm’s attack. Haley Duxbury (1g/2a), Madelyn Lovejoy (2g/2a), and Isabella Escobar (1g/1a) also scored for Greece; Isabella Escobar’s goal was the first of her varsity career.

MYNDERSE/ROMULUS/WATERLOO-12 at LIVONIA-AVON-GENESEO-13 - In the closest match of the day, Livonia/Avon/Geneseo held off a second-half rally by Mynderse/Romulus/Waterloo to earn the victory. Maddie Whitford (6g), Sidney Clickner (2g/3a), and Lily Rowe (3g/2a) accounted for the lion’s share of the scoring for L/A/G; the remainder came from Arianna Scalisi (1g/1a) and Taryn Rossborough (1g). PENN YAN-14 at CORNING-6 - Penn Yan built an 8-2 halftime lead over Corning (IV) and coasted to its second victory of the young season. Bailey Cooper led the Schroeder at CAattack for the Mustangs, recording five goals and three assists; she also collected 18 draw controls, including the 300th of her varsity career. Lila Hansen and Makenna Mullins each had three goals. Addison Gillette (2g/2a) and Miley Andersen accounted for the remainder of the Mustangs’ scoring. SCHROEDER-5 at CANANDAIGUA-13 - The Gray Wolves won their first game of the season, led by Leah Sheridan (4g/1a) and Lola Schorr (3g/3a). Keira Gioseffi added three goals for Canandaigua. Leah Sheridan also recorded a game-high six draw controls, including the 100th of her varsity career. The win was the twelfth in a row for Canandaigua over their rivals from Schroeder. 

For the Warriors, Molly Meyer (2g), Lola Wambach (2g), and Molly Murphy (1g) accounted for all of the scoring. Shae Coon recorded an assist in the loss.   [ Story and BOX SCORE
