Brighton Defeats Pal-Mac |

![]() Brighton scored the first three goals and eight of the first ten in their 11-5 win over Pal-Mac. The Barons were dominate on offense and strong on defense during the entire 50 minute contest. Brighton Defenseman Eileen Kelly was a standout force on the field. She recorded 5 caused turnovers including a pair of single pressure takes with just her vs. the Pal-Mac ball carrier. She was joined by Hayley Zielinski, Piper Davis and Brogan Holbrough to keep the Pal-Mac offensive from being able to turn up the pressure. Full Story |

There were 34 matches played in this week of games, with the season starting to pick up the pace. The closest match was Pittsford's double overtime win vs. Canandaigua (7-6). With two weeks under our belt, every team has played at least one game. There are five teams remaining that have won all their games: Fairport (1-0), Mynderse-Romulus (3-0), Penn Yan (1-0), Pittsford (1-0) and Spencerport (3-0). There are even more games expected in the coming week. 



Mercy dominated the second half to defeat Pal-Mac 13-9. The Monarchs scored 9 of the last 11 goals in the contest to come back from a three goal deficit. The main difference in the second half was ball-time. Mercy picked up the draw controls in the second half and denied the Red Raiders the ball. Leading in draw controls for Mercy was Karli Harnischfeger with 5. 
There were nine games tonight in Section Five. The closest matchup was Schroeder's 12-10 win over Hilton. Mynderse-Romulus defeated Newark-Midlakes by 3 (9-6) and Mercy defeated Pal-Mac by 4 (13-9). The remaining scores were Brighton over Victor 13-5, Irondequoit over Churchville-Chili 16-3, Greece Storm over Eastridge 15-3, Gananda over Jordan-Elbridge 14-5, Thomas over Brockport 12- and Penfield over HFL 13-3. 


There were 19 matches played in the opening week of games. There was a single overtime game this week with Baldwinsville defeating Brighton 6-5. There were four additional games that were decided by a single goal. There are still 13 teams that have yet to play their season opener and look to their first games this week
There were three scheduled games tonight. Brighton defeated Pal-Mac 11-5, Baldwinsville defeated Rush-Henrietta 12-6 and Waterloo defeated Aquinas 14-9.
After the regular season, there are several championship opportunities for teams that qualify. First up are the Section Five Tournaments for four classes (A-B-C-D).
