Big Game Night for Midweek

There were 11 games played tonight.  The low-scoring Geneva over Midlakes-Newark 4-3 was the closest game of the night.  Other scores included: Marcus Whitman over Gananda 15-3, RH over Spencerport 18-9, Waterloo over Penn Yan 10-4, Greece Storm over CC 12-8, Victor over Gates Chili 17-2, Penfield over Thomas 14-5, Pittsford over Fairport 10-7, Canandaigua over Pal-Mac 16-6, Schroeder over Hilton 15-10 and Brighton over Irondequoit 15-2.

RH defeated Spencerport 18-9.  The game was close for the first nine goals with RH only leading 5-4 with 6:18 left in the first half.  After that RH scored seven of the next eight to pull away.  All of the Ranger goals came from four girls: Erin Coykenall (2g-3a), Lily DePalma (1g-2a), Olivia Wall (2g-1a) and Natalie Choate (4g).  For the Royal Comets, 11 girls made the offensive book.  Maddy George led the count with 2g-2a.  Kate Mashewske led with five draw controls.  Additional stats are HERE.

In a match that was at most one goal apart, Geneva defeated Newark-Midlakes 4-3.  The Panthers held the Reds scoreless in the second half while adding two of their own.  Megan Kerr scored all four goals for Geneva.  Grace Gajan (2g) and Claire DeBoover (1g) scored for Newark-Midlakes.  Additional stats are HERE.

After a close first half, Greece Storm won the second half 5-2 to defeat Churchville-Chili 12-8.  Greece was led by Emily Benham with 3g-2a.  Alexa Martel recorded 2 caused turnovers for the Storm.  Additional stats are HERE.

Penfield defeated Thomas 14-5 after holding the Titans scoreless in the first half.  Morgan Cox led in scoring with 3g-3a.  Nina Nesselbush finished with 4g.  Elisa Faklaris (5) and Rugaber (6) led in draw controls for the Patriots.  Additional stats are HERE.

Schroeder scored the final three goals in their 15-10 win over Hilton.  The game was closer than the final score.  Every time that Schroeder began to pull away, the Cadets fought back.  Schroeder led 9-3 late in the first half before Hilton scored four straight to pull within two.  Hilton was led by Sydney Carpenter (1g-3a) and Amanda Hilderbrandt (2g-2a).  Logan Hibbard led in draws (2), groundballs (4) and caused turnovers (3).  For Schroeder, Abby Moon led with 2g-4a.  Madison Bell (3g-2a) and Payton Lill (4g) also scored for the Warriors.  Lill finished with 12 draw controls.  Additional stats are HERE.

Brighton defeated Irondequoit 15-2 after holding the Eagles to only a single goal in each half.  Brighton was led in scoring by Kathryn Smolensky with 3g-3a.  Caroline Lederman added another 4g-1a.  Piper Davis led in draw controls with five.  Additional stats are HERE.

After a 6-6 first half, Canandaigua pulled away and defeated Pal-Mac 16-6.  Emma Arnold (1g-2a) and 3 draw controls led the Red Raiders.  Jamie Walker also recorded 3 draw controls.  Additional stats are HERE.

After a 5-5 first half, Pittsford pulled away and defeated Fairport 10-7.  Sarah Falk (4g) and Morgan Schwab (4a) led in scoring for the Red Raiders.  Falk also recorded three draw controls.  Additional stats are HERE.

Waterloo led 3-2 at halftime before a 7-2 second half gave them the win over Penn Yan.  The Indians were led by Logan Castiglione with 3g-2a.  Aubrey O'Brien led in draw controls with five.  Additional stats are HERE.

Marcus Whitman defeated Gananda 15-3 after leading 10-1 at halftime.  Each of the Blue Panther goals came from a different player: Sydney Buchko, Jenna Ginsberg and Erin Rooney.  Kaira Donnan led in draw controls with 5 and caused turnovers with 3.  Additional stats are HERE.
