First Night for the Last Week of Regular Season

There were 12 games played tonight to start off the last week of the regular season.  The closest matchups were Wayne over Gananda 8-7, Mercy over Waterloo 8-7 and Irondequoit over Schroeder 11-10.  Remaining scores included Thomas over HFL 10-7, Pittsford over Canandaigua 12-8, Brockport over Gates Chili 16-6, Brighton over Spencerport 13-8, RH over Fairport 19-9, Penn Yan over Aquinas 13-11 and Greece Storm over Newark-Midlakes 12-3.  Scores are still pending for Victor vs. Eastridge and Geneva vs. Livonia.

Brighton scored the first three goals of the game with Kathryn Smolensky, Katie Lederman and Susan Lafountain each adding a goal to take the early 3-0 lead over Spencerport.  The Rangers kept the game close, but could never force a tie.  The game was 6-5 Brighton at the half.  The Barons added seven of the first eight goals of the second half and never looked back.  Leading in scoring for Spencerport was Erin Coykendall (2g-1a).  She also finished with 5 draw controls.  Olivia Wall added 2 caused turnovers.  For Brighton, four girls each finished with 4 points: Rene Gangarosa (2g-2a), Lafountain (4g), Lederman (3g-1a) and Smolensky (2g-2a).  Gangarosa add a team leading 7 draw controls.  Additional stats are HERE.

After a close ten minutes, RH scored five unanswered goals to pull ahead 7-3.  The Royal Comets never looked back and increased their lead through the end of the game.  They scored the five goals to finish 19-9 over Fairport.  Fairport had four players who each finished with 2 points: Mia Brunken (1g-1a), Cameryn Dera (2g), Morgan Schwab (1g-1a) and Hannah Shin (2g).  For RH, Rachel Crane led with 3g-2a.  Maddy George also added another 4g for the Royal Comets.  Additional stats are HERE.

Irondequoit fought back from a 6-7 halftime deficit to defeat Webster Schroeder 11-10.  The Eagles were led in scoring by Erika Sherwood with 4g-3a.  Five other players finished with 2 points.  Leah O`Sullivan and Sherwood each recorded 2 draw controls and Maira Brennan added 2 caused turnovers.  Additional stats are HERE.

Mercy defeated Waterloo 8-7 after trailing 3-5 at the half.  Logan Castiglione (1g-3a) and Aubrey O'Brien (3g-1a) led in scoring with 4 points each for the Indians.  For the Monarchs, Sami Carey (1g-3a) and Caroline Murphy (4g) led in scoring.  Murphy also led in draw controls with 4.  Karli Harnischfeger recorded 4 groundballs.  Additional stats are HERE.

Brockport defeated Gates Chili 16-6.  Tori Lammes led in scoring for the Blue Devils with 4g-2a.  Leah Daly led in draw controls (5), groundballs (6) and caused turnovers (4).  Ella Fadele and Lammes also added 2 caused turnovers each.  Additional stats are HERE.

Penn Yan led by a single goal in both halves (7-6 and 6-5) to defeat Aquinas 13-11.  Scoring for Penn Yan was led by Sydney Bloom with 3g-4a.  Elissa Callaway added another 4g-1a.  Bloom led in draw controls with 8.  Hayley Anderson and Alli Olevnik both recorded 5 groundballs for the Mustangs.  Additional stats are HERE.

Greece Storm defeated Newark-Midlakes 12-3.  The Strom led 7-1 at halftime and were led in scoring by Alyssa Ballou with 3g-3a.  Ballou and Emily Benham both recorded 5 draw controls for Greece.  Sadie Coachman finished with 2 caused turnovers.  Additional stats are HERE.
