Wednesday: Rush-Henrietta over Victor

DAY IN REVIEW: WEDNESDAY - Rush-Henrietta senior Avery Roberts scored the game-winning goal with one second left on the clock to give the Royals Comets a 10-9 victor at Victor. Mynderse-Romulus saw 14 saves from goalkeeper Maria del Carmen on their way to a 9-6 win over Newark-Midlakes. Penn Yan used a strong second half to pull away from Waterloo/Marcus-Whitman and win 11-8.

FAIRPORT-17 at HILTON-7 -  Fairport traveled to Hilton and came home victorious after beating the Cadets 17-7.  Makayla Keys (3g-4a) scored 7 points to lead Fairports offensive attack, while Katie Mallaber (4g-1a) added 5 points, and Lily Kondas (3g-1a) 4 as Fairport used offensive balance to soundly defeat Hilton.  Ava Peers collected 5 Draw Controls.  No Book was submitted for Hilton at time of post.  Fairport will host Section 3 powerhouse Baldwinsville on April 15.    [ BOX SCORE

Penn Yan at Waterloo

VICTOR-9 at RUSH-HENRIETTA-10 -  In the game of the day, Rush Henrietta leaned on a 4 goal performance from Senior Avery Roberts, including a game winning, buzzer-beating 8 meter goal to outlast the Victor Blue Devils.  Close throughout the score was tied 5-5 at the half and 9-9 in the final moments before Roberts stuck her 4th goal of the game, giving the Royal Comets the W.  Goalie Angelia Oechsle made 11 huge saves for RH.   No book was submitted for Victor at time of post.  RH next plays Brighton 4/14, and Victor plays St. Anthony’s on 4/15.  [ BOX SCORE

CANANDAIGUA-15 at THOMAS-9 -  Webster Thomas hosted the Canandaigua Braves tonight, and suffered a 15-9 defeat at the Hands of Canandaigua.  Goalie Maggie Cross had a spectacular 10 saves, Hanna Davis (5g-6a) scored another 11 points, Liv Schorr scored 4 goals and Koehler Nieman (2g-1a) also contributed 3 points to the Braves offensive effort.  McKenna Crouse collected 6 draw controls for the Braves, who will face a top 10 Nationally Ranked St. Anthony’s squad from Long Island tomorrow.  No Book was submitted for Thomas at time of post.    [ BOX SCORE

BRIGHTON-18 at SCHROEDER-7 - Brighton beat up on Webster Schroeder tonight 18-7.  They catapulted out to a 14-2 lead in the first half and coasted to the decisive victory in the second.  Brighten will have a tough match-up with Rush Henrietta on April 14, while Schroeder next faces Aquinas on 4/17.  No Book was submitted for either team at time of post.    [ BOX SCORE

PENFIELD-7 at PITTSFORD-10 -  In a hard-fought Monroe County, Class A match-up, Pittsford bested Penfield 10-7.  Jenna Capozzi (2g-2a) gave Penfield's best offensive effort with 4 points.  No book was submitted for Pittsford at time of post.  In another marquee game, Pittsford will next play Victor on 4/17.  Penfield moves to 3-3 after the loss and will look to climb back above .500 against Mercy also on 4/17.    [ BOX SCORE

NEWARK-MIDLAKES-6 at MYNDERSE-ROMULUS-9 - Mynderse hosted Newark-Midlakes this evening and sent them home packing with a 9-6 defeat.  Mynderse-Romulus rode an outstanding 14 saves from Goalkeeper,  Maria del Carmen to victory, while also counting on strong offensive output from Haley Mosch (5g-1a) and Chelsea Korzeniewski (1g-6a).  Kate Mahoney scored 4 goals in a valiant effort for Newark-Midlakes.   [ BOX SCORE

EASTRIDGE-1 at HONEOYE FALLS-LIMA-15 - The HFL Cougars are now 3-2 after a 15-1 win at home vs Eastridge. Katie Adams, Jenna Lawrence, and Paige Kidd all snagged three draw controls and Rylee Bennett led the team with four ground balls. The Cougars are back at home next Wednesday to take on the Canandaigua Braves. Claire Ruff and Paige Kidd had three goals and 1 assist each. 10 different lady cougars scored tonight.   [ BOX SCORE

Penn Yan at Waterloo

CHURCHVILLE-CHILI-9 at BROCKPORT-5 -  In defeating Brockport (1-1) by a score of 9-5, Churchville Chili (2-2) evened both teams' records tonight.  Shavonne Callahan (3g-1a), Campbell Hewlett (2g-2a) and Rory Turk (3g) provided the offensive punch to power the Saints past Brockport.  For Brockport Zoe Baase scored 3 goals and caused and almost unbelievable 12 turnovers.    [ BOX SCORE

PAL-MAC-14 at GENEVA-5 - In the Finger Lakes, Pal-Mac improved their record to 2-0, handily beating Geneva 14-5.  Dominant throughout, Pal-Mac was led by Reagan Diehl (6g) with otherwise well spread offensive output, including a 3-point performance by Teagan Hudak (2g-1a).  Defensively, Molly Seither won 4 Draw Controls, scooped 4 Ground Balls and Caused a turnover.    [ BOX SCORE

PENN YAN-11 at WATERLOO-MARCUS WHITMAN-8 - In a tough Finger Lakes match-up, Penn Yan used a strong second half to pull away from Waterloo/Marcus-Whitman 11-8.  The teams were knotted at 6 at the half, but Penn Yan was able to hold Waterloo-MW to only 2 second half goals to secure the victory.  Leading scorers for the Mustangs were Bailey Cooper (4g) and Ruby Berry (3g), while Marion Wheeler made 8 saves in goal.  For Waterloo-MW Maci Mueller (2g-2a) had a productive day, while Natalie DiSanto (3g) and Lainie Forde (2g-1a) notched 3 points a piece.     [ BOX SCORE
