Saturday: Gates Chili Over Gananda-Marion By One

DAY IN REVIEW: SATURDAY - Many of the nine games played today were mismatches. Gates Chili had a one-goal win over Gananda-Marion, Other local winners were Penfield, R-H, Waterloo-Marcus Whitman, Fairport, HFL, Irondequoit, and Victor.

Canandaigua vs IrondequoitFAIRPORT-15 at MERCY-8 - The Red Raiders improved to 11-1 on the season, behind a stellar performance by goaltender Jaelyne Twomey (11s).  Ella Peers (4g/3a), Katie Mallaber (3g), and Lily Kondas (3g) accounted for the bulk of Fairport's scoring.  Ava Peers secured five draw controls for the Red Raiders.  For the Monarchs, Madeleine Fitzgerald, Mia Lusardi, and Sydney Cook each had two goals.  Fairport faces its class A rival Pittsford on Wednesday.  Mercy hosts Aquinas on Monday.    [ BOX SCORE

VICTOR-10 at BALDWINSVILLE-8 - The Blue Devils improved to 9-4, handing Baldwinsville (III) just its second loss of the season.   There were no statistics reported from Victor at post time.  The Blue Devils travel to Hilton on Wednesday to play the Cadets.     [ BOX SCORE

Canandaigua vs IrondequoitITHACA-9 at RUSH-HENRIETTA-18 - In this non-league matchup, Rush-Henrietta (11-1) took control early and coasted to victory over Ithaca (IV).  Danielle Garrett (4g/2a), Lena Cox (4g), and Kate DeWald (3g/1a) led the scoring for the Royal Comets.  Catrina Rowe recorded 10 draw controls.  The Royal Comets resume play Monday when they host Hilton.    [ BOX SCORE

PITTSFORD-6 at CNS-9 - Pittsford (8-4) became the fifth section V squad to fall to CNS (III) this season.  There were no statistics reported from Pittsford at post time.  The Panthers play host to Irondequoit on Monday.     [ BOX SCORE

HILTON-11 at PENFIELD-19 -  Penfield led by 11-3 at the half.  The Patriots' attack featured a number of multi-goal scorers, Including Emma Alexander (2g/1a), Aleah Petre (2g), Sierra Quarterman (2g), Peyton Rothfuss (4g/4a), Grace Rund (2g), Reegan Sercu (2g/1a), and Riley Smith (3g/3a).   Charley Barlette and Leah Kunisch each had three goals for Hilton (3-8), while Lilly Mattucci contributed one goal and three assists.  On Wednesday, Penfield (6-7) faces Brighton for the second time this season.  The Cadets visit Rush-Henrietta on Monday.    [ BOX SCORE

Canandaigua vs IrondequoitPAL-MAC-5 at IRONDEQUOIT-14 - Maeve Brennan had four goals and four assists for the Eagles, while Evin Terzioglu and Ella Brennan chipped in three goals apiece.  Faith Beals recorded 10 saves for the Red Raiders, who dropped to 9-3.  On Monday, Irondequoit (6-7) travels to Pittsford to take on the Panthers.  Pal-Mac visits Livonia-Avon on Tuesday.   [ BOX SCORE]   - - More images in the photo gallery.

HONEOYE FALLS-LIMA-16 at HORSEHEADS-6 - HF-L (8-4) won its non-league matchup against Horseheads (IV).  Katie Adams (5g/1a) and Clare Ruff (2g/3a) provided all the scoring HF-L would need.  The Cougars resume league play on Wednesday when they host Spencerport.    [ BOX SCORE

Canandaigua vs IrondequoitGANANDA-MARION-9 at GATES CHILI-10 - Kierra Daugherty and Natalie Witt each scored three goals to help lift the Spartans to their first victory of the season.   There were no statistics reported from Gananda-Marion at post time.  The Spartans look to make it two in a row when they face Bishop Kearney on Tuesday.  The Blue Panthers visit Geneva on Monday.     [ BOX SCORE

MYNDERSE-ROMULUS-8 at WATERLOO-MARCUS WHITMAN-18 - Maci Mueller and Natalie Disanto led the victorious Tigers with four goals each.  Madycyn Hurdle stopped nine shots.  For Mynderse-Romulus (6-5), Kelly Kohberger scored three goals.   On Wednesday, Waterloo-Marcus Whitman (7-4) visits Gananda-Marion.  The Blue Devils travel to Churchville-Chili Monday to take on the Saints.    [ BOX SCORE
