Maddie Askin makes 500th Save but Penn Yan Wins
GENEVA-5 at PENN YAN-19 - In what turned out to be the closer of the two games played on Tuesday, Penn Yan built an 18-3 halftime lead en route to a 19-5 win over Geneva. The Mustangs have now won 31 of the last 32 meetings between the two teams. Penn Yan (7-0) remains undefeated on the season. Geneva is 2-3.
Leading the scoring for Penn Yan was Bailey Cooper (6g). Miley Anderson had three goals and three assists. Addison Gillette added a goal and four assists. Makenna Mullins chipped in three goals and an assist, along with a game-high 10 draw controls.
For the Panthers, Meghan Forbes had two goals. Velia DeMaria and Allison Marquart each recorded a goal and an assist; Allison Marquart's goal was the 50th of her varsity career. Makenna Harris scored a goal and also picked up a team-leading four draw controls. Maddie Askin made six saves, including the 500th of her career.
