Finger Lakes End of Season Awards
Finger Lakes end of season awards come in with 24 First and 24 Second Team All County Players. There are also 22 Honorable Mention Players. In addition there were 2 All Americans and 2 Academic All Americans. As well as Co-Defensive Players of the Year, a Midfielder of the Year and an Offensive Player of the Year.
All Americans:
Vanessa Walters (All American):
Vanessa is a senior goalie from Waterloo. She finished the season with 199 saves at 61.99% and played in all 19 games for the Indians. She helped them finish 13-6 and after being seeded 4th in the Tournament, she helped them top 5th seeded Aquinas 7-6 to make the Semi-Finals. She recorded 10 saves (62.5%) in that contest. She is committed to play at Binghamton next season.
Ali Turner (All American):
Ali is a senior attackman from Geneva. She finished the season with 66g-55a and 14 draw controls. The Panthers finished the season 10-8 after a loss to 3rd seeded Penn Yan in the Quarter Finals. She led her team with 121 total points and scored in all 18 contests. Her biggest scoring game was vs. Aquinas (9g-5a) back in April. As Sectionals came around, she had two big games with 9 points (6g-3a) against Livonia and 10 points (3g-7a) against Penn Yan. We currently do not have a college listed for next season.
Alicia Reuscher (All Academic):
Alicia is a senior midfielder from Geneva. She was a USLacrosse Academic All American last year. She has committed to Pittsburgh next season.
Mary Panepento (All Academic):
Mary is a junior midfielder from Wayne. We currently do not have a college listed for next season.
Players of the Year:
Vanessa Walters (co-Defensive Player of the Year):
In addition to All American honors, Ms. Walters was named Defensive Player of the Year.
Ali Turner (Offensive Player of the Year):
In addition to All American honors, Ms. Turner was named Offensive Player of the Year.
Sophia Leva (co-Defensive Player of the Year):
Sophia is a junior goalie at Pal-Mac. She finished the season with 135 saves at 61.36%. The Red Raiders finished 16-3 on the season with Ms. Leva between the pipes in 15 contests. Her biggest night of the year was against Churchville-Chili were she recorded 17 saves.
Aldyn Savage (Midfielder of the Year):
Alydn is a junior midfielder at Pal-Mac. She finished the season with 38g-21a and 75 draw controls. She was second in goals and assists for the Red Raiders (3rd in points) and led in draw controls by more than double.
