State Quarter Finals
The Section Five Class Champions faced off today against their counterparts from Section Six. At the end of the day, all four Section Five Champions moved on to the State Final Four. HFL defeated Lake Shore 12-7, Pal-Mac defeated Eden 17-3, Penfield defeated Lancaster 17-5 and Brighton defeated Frontier 18-1.
CLASS A:
Penfield scored the first 12 goals in their 17-5 win over Lancaster. The Legends finished their season at 13-5. They reached the state tournament with a 15-6 win over Orchard Park in their tournament. Each of the Lancaster goals was scored by a different player: Maddie Mazur, Jessica Notaro, Stephanie Herrneiter, Paige Szymusiak, Jordan Rokitka. The Patriots were led in scoring by Shannon Burdick with 5g-1a. Nina Nesselbush added another 5g to the totals. Additional stats are HERE.
The Patriots move on to the Semi-Finals at SUNY Cortland next Friday, June 8th. They will face the Section I Champion (North Rockland) on the Red Field at 1:00 PM. North Rockland defeated both Saratoga Springs (Section II) 14-6 and Kingston (Section IX) 17-3 to advance to the Semi-Finals. The Red Raiders are currently 19-1 after tonight's win.
CLASS B:
Brighton scored the final 18 goals of the contest in their 18-1 win over Frontier. The Falcons scored the game opener only 1:36 into the game with Taylor Gehan assisting Gabriella DeMeo. The Barons scored the remainder of the goals. Frontier, who came into today undefeated at 17-0-1, had their first loss of the season today against the Barons. Brighton was led in scoring by Kathryn Smolensky with 6g-4a. Rene Gangarosa added another 2g-3a. Additional stats are HERE.
The Barons move on to the Semi-Finals at the SUNY Cortland next Friday, June 8th. They will face the Section I Champion (John Jay) on the Red Field at 3:00 PM. John Jay defeated both Queensburg (Section II) 17-10 and Warwick (Section IX) 20-7 to advance to the Semi-Finals. The River Indians are currently 18-3 after tonight's win.
CLASS C:
HFL played a close half with Lake Shore leading 5-4 at halftime. The Cougars pulled away in the second half, quickly going up to 8-4 before ending the game up 12-7. When updated, additional information will be updated HERE.
The Cougars move on to the Semi-Finals at the SUNY Cortland next Friday, June 8th. They will face the Section I Champion (Brewster) on the Red Field at 9:00 AM. Brewster defeated both Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake (Section II) 17-9 and Goshen Central (Section IX) 20-5 to advance to the Semi-Finals. The Bears are currently 17-4 after tonight's win.
CLASS D:
Pal-Mac scored the first 13 goals on their way to a 17-3 win over Eden. Jamie Walker led in scoring with 6g-3a. Emma Arnold scored 5g-3a and led in groundballs (5) and caused turnovers (2). Abigael LaRocca and Grace Seither both added another 2 caused turnovers. Alea Javorowsky led in draw controls with 7. Additional stats are HERE.
The Red Raiders move on to the Semi-Finals at the SUNY Cortland next Friday, June 8th. They will face the Section I Champion (Bronxville) on the Red Field at 11:00 AM. Bronxville defeated both Schuylerville (Section II) 13-4 and Millbrook (Section IX) 16-6 to advance to the Semi-Finals. The Broncos are currently 17-4 after tonight's win.
