State Finals

Section Five finished 0-3 in the State Finals with all three programs finishing as runner-up.  Cold Spring Harbor defeated HFL 18-3, CBA defeated Penfield 10-5 and Manhasset defeated Brighton 6-4.  This is the fifth time that the Cougars have finished as runner-up, the sixth time that the Barons have finished as runner-up and the second time the Patriots have finished as runner-up.

CBA (Section III) defeated Penfield 10-5.  The Brothers scored the opening two goals and although the Patriots forced the 2-2 tie, they never led.  Grace Hulslander (3g) and Claire Jeschke (2g-1a) led in scoring for the Brothers.  For Penfield, Morgan Cox (1g-1a), Madigan Lublin (2g) and Nina Nesselbush (2g) all finished with 2 points.  Three players for the Patriots were named to the All Tournament Team: Laina Brozost, Beth Lawatsch and Morgan Cox.  Lucy Rugaber was named the NYS "Good Sports" athlete from Penfield.  Additional stats are HERE.

Manhasset (Section XIII) defeated Brighton 6-4.  The Indians scored the first goal and never tied or trailed in the victory.  Maria Themelis (2g) led in scoring for Manhasset.  For Brighton, Rene Gangarosa led in scoring with 2g.  Three players for the Barons were named to the All Tournament Team: Susan LaFountain, Rene Gangarosa, Katie Smolensky.  Eilana Ontiveros-Oberg was named the NYS "Good Sports" athlete from Brighton.  Additional stats are HERE.

Cold Spring Harbor (Section XIII) defeated HFL 18-3.  The Seahawks scored four quick goals and never tied or trailed in the victory.  Caroline DeBellis (4g-2a) led in scoring for CSH.  For HFL, Jill Sullivan led with 1g-1a.  Three players for the Cougars were named to the All Tournament Team: Bridgette Kiefer, Paige Smith and Kierin Ratliff.  Hailey Bushnell was named the NYS "Good Sports" athlete from HFL.  Additional stats are HERE.
