2018 All American Awards

Today, the Section released the 2018 All American and Academic All American Award winners.  There were a total of 5 winners for each award in the Greater Rochester Region.  Both All American and Academic All American awards were split with 4 coming from Monroe County and 1 coming from the Finger Lakes.

ALL AMERICAN:

Michelle Messenger - Goalie - Pittsford - Messenger was the starting goalie at Pittsford for at least the last three season, where she has accrued 353 saves (our records began in 2016).  She was named 1st Team All League in 2017 and 2nd Team in 2016.  Additionally, she was named the All Tournament MVP in 2017.

Kathryn Smolensky - Attack - Brighton - Smolensky recorded 109g-66a over the last two seasons.  Last year she was named to the D&C All-Greater Rochester First Team in addition to All Tournament and All League honors.  She finished her high school career with 1g in the Class B State Final game vs. Manhasset.

Payton Lill - Midfield - Webster Schroeder - Lill has 146g-65a in our database over the last three seasons and 211g-90a over her career.  She also set a School record at Schroeder with 421 draw controls over her five year varsity career.  She was named to the 1st Team All County four times beginning her freshman year (2015).  She was also named to the D&C All Greater Rochester Team in 2016.

Mary Soures - Midfield - Webster Thomas - Soures has 119g-18a over the past three seasons.  She also recorded 122 draw controls for Thomas in that same time.  In 2016 she was named to the 2nd Team (All County) and for the last 2 years as 1st Team.  Additionally, in 2016 she was named to the All Tournament team.

Emma Arnold - Midfield - Palmyra Macedon - Arnold, the only junior on the list, had a demonstrative season.  She finished with 71g-60a this season alone to bring her career total to 140g-124a with another season to go.  She was named to the D&C All Greater Rochester last season as well as All Tournament Team and 1st Team All Leauge.  She has recorded 232 draw controls, 159 ground balls and 86 caused turnovers in the past three seasons.

ACADEMIC ALL AMERICAN:

Hannah Shin - Midfield - Fairport - Shin finished her career with 23g-19a over the past three seasons.  She also recorded 68 draw controls, 40 ground balls and 21 caused turnovers in that time frame.  She has been a strong defensive presense for the Red Raiders during her career.

Payton Reed - Midfield - HFL - Reed was named to the All Tournamen Team for the past three seasons and 2nd Team in both 2017 and 2016.  She recorded 66g-24a in the last three years as well as 107 draw controls and 54 ground balls.

Lindsay Reho - Attack - Canandaigua - Reho had 41g-48a over the last three years.  She has 1 draw contorls, 19 ground balls and 5 caused turnvoers in our database.

Sarah Stark - Midfield - Pittsford - Stark was named to the 2nd Team midfield last season and has recorded 25g-11a in the last two years.  Over her career she also recorded 30 draw controls, 73 groundballs and 60 caused turnovers.

Sydney Mittiga - Midfield - Geneva - Mittiga was named 2nd Team All League last season.  Over her career at Geneva she finished with 11g-14a.  She also recorded 18 draw controls and 48 groundballs.
