Wednesday: Brighton over Penfield in OT
Most of the twelve games that were played on Wednesday were mismatches, but Brighton used overtime to defeat Penfield and Waterloo beat Penn Yan 8-7.
GREECE STORM 4 - RUSH-HENRIETTA 18 - Rush Henrietta built a 13-2 halftime lead on its way to an impressive 18-4 victory over Greece Storm. Ally Garrett (4g/1a), Ashlyn Roberts (3g/1a), and Catrina Rowe (1g/3a) led the onslaught for Rush Henrietta. Megan Schillinger collected five draw controls. For the Storm, Alison Dioguardi had three goals, and Rylee Brendlinger recorded a whopping 15 saves. The Royal Comets remain undefeated at 4-0. The Storm suffered its first loss of the season. LIVONIA-AVON 1 - AQUINAS 15 - Aquinas ran away from Livonia-Avon, defeating the Bulldogs by a score of 15-1. Sienna Hinchcliffe had a fine all-around game for the Little Irish. In addition to two goals and an assist, she picked up four ground balls, had four draw controls, and caused three turnovers. Gianna Leonardi (3g/3a) and Savannah Hinchcliffe (4g/1a) were the leading scorers for Aquinas. Aquinas is 2-0. Livonia-Avon is 2-4. There were no statistics reported from Livonia-Avon at post time. WAYNE 2 - PAL-MAC 16 - Pal-Mac improved its record to 3-0, defeating Wayne by a score of 16-2. Kylie Waeghe had five goals for the Red Raiders. Reagan Diehl contributed three goals and two assists, plus six ground balls and three caused turnovers. Abby Brown and Riley Simpson each scored a goal for Wayne. IRONDEQUOIT 12 - THOMAS 10 - Irondequoit rushed to a 9-3 halftime lead and held on for a 12-10 win over Thomas. It was the Eagles’ first victory of the season against two losses. Addison Schaeffer scored five goals and collected five ground balls for Thomas. Maddie Quinlan contributed three goals. The Titans are 1-2. CHURCHVILLE-CHILI 11 - BROCKPORT 8 - Churchville-Chili trailed 5-4 at the half but rallied to defeat Brockport, 11-8. It was the Saints’ fourth victory of the season. Madison Buck scored five goals for Churchville-Chili. Sydney Bailey recorded five draw controls and six ground balls in addition to two goals. The Blue Devils fell to 2-4. EASTRIDGE 4 - SPENCERPORT 20 - Spencerport defeated Eastridge, 20-4. It was the Rangers' first win of the season. The Lancers are 0-3. There were no statistics reported for either team at post time. [BOXSCORE]
HONEOYE FALLS-LIMA 17 - GATES CHILI 0 - [Team Report:] "Coming off of a tough loss to Victor, the Lady Cougars came out strong against Gates Chili, earning a shutout victory by a score of 17-0. Draw controls were a key factor in the win with HF-L winning 17 of 19 draws. Offensively, ten different players scored points, with the most prolific scorers being Taylor Blythe (1 goal 3 assists), Whitley Easton (4 goals 2 assists) and Clare Ruff (2 goals 4 assists). The success on the offensive side of the field, did not however detract from the outstanding defensive effort turned in by the Lady Cougars. Led by seniors Emma Hoffman and Maeve O'Brien, with the help of Elizabeth Smith (4 ground balls) and Marlee Green (3 ground balls), the defense ensured that the ball stayed in the hands of the Cougars all night long. CANANDAIGUA 18 - SCHROEDER 4 - The Canandaigua Braves opened up their offense tonight with a balanced attack featuring 5 different multiple goal scorers in an 18-4 win over Webster-Schroeder tonight. Players scoring at least 3 goals included Hanna Davis (5g-3a), Olivia Schorr (4g-3a), Abbey Herod (3g-2a) and Lola Schorr (3g). Nola Weaver added 2 goals and 5 GBs, and Abbey Herod dominated the draw circle once again with 12 Draw Controls, putting the Braves offense in position to go to work all night. Stefanie Sellitto and Makenna Baier each scored 2 goals for Webster Schroeder, and Lucy Starzyk made 9 saves between the pipes. [BOXSCORE]
VICTOR 13 - PITTSFORD 3 - The Victor Blue Devils defended their home turf tonight against the Pittsford Panthers posting a convincing 13-3 win. Senior Eva Pronti quarterbacked the offense with 8 points including 2 goals and 6 assists, while Caitlin Keenan also netted 2 goals while distributing 3 assists. Madison Mabbett (3g-1a) and Olivia Bruno (3g) came away from the game with Hat Tricks. There was no book submitted for Pittsford at time of post. [BOXSCORE]
NEWARK-MIDLAKES 11 - MYNDERSE-ROMULUS 7 - Newark-Midlakes steadily outpaced Mynderse-Romulus tonight in Newark, taking a a 6-4 lead into the half and adding to that lead by the same margin in the second half to come away with an 11-7 victory. In defeat, Bridget Mapstone faced a barrage of shots, and made 11 saves in a valiant effort. Haley Mosch (2g-1a) and Kelly Kohberger (1g-2a) each scored 3 points for the Blue Devils.
