Tuesday - Rush-Henrietta Beats West Genny in OT

In an exciting game in section III Rush-Henrietta used overtime to take a 9-7 win. Meanwhile, back in Section V Brighton defeated Pittsford 8-5.

PITTSFORD 5 - BRIGHTON  8 - In another tough match-up, Brighton improved their record to 5-1 by beating Class A, Pittsford by a score of 8-5.  Brighton came out of the gates strong building a 5-1 lead in the first half and held on during a more evenly matched 2nd half to complete the Win.  Pittsford’s record falls to 2-2 with the loss.  No book was reported for either team at time of post.    [BOXSCORE]

AQUINAS 14 - EASTRIDGE   5 - Aquinas also remained undefeated tonight by throttling Eastridge 14-5.  Mackenna Brown (2g-5a) led all scorers with a 7-point performance, while Savannah Hinchcliffe scored 4 goals, and Carissa Schneider also netted 3.  The Hinchcliffe sisters also combined for 8 draw controls, 6 GB’s and 4 Caused Turnovers to help Aquinas control the ball and secure the victory. HILTON 9 - HONEOYE FALLS-LIMA  15 - [Team Report:]  Coming off a tough loss to Webster Thomas, the Lady Cougars came out strong against Hilton building a 9-4 lead in the first half and later a 15-9 win. Draws were big for the lady cougars with Easton snagging five draw controls and Green and Kidd four each. Offensively, the Cougars were led by Easton (5 goals 1 assist) and Kidd (4 goals). On the other end, Hoffman and Green led the defense with 2 caused turnovers a piece. The cougars are 4-2 and will host Canandaigua next Thursday, April 21st. WEST GENESEE 7 - RUSH-HENRIETTA  8 OT -   [Team Report:]  RH trailed at halftime 5-3. The Royal Comets scored the first three goals of the second half to take a 6-5 lead. West Genny tied the score at 6-6 at the 13:32 of second half. RH regained the lead at 12:17 with a goal from Ally Garrett with assist going to Kate DeWald. The Wildcats tied it at 7-7 with 7:04 remaining in the game. Rush-Henrietta had two eight-meter opportunities turned away with under twenty seconds which turned into overtime.

West Genny controlled much of the first overtime, however never got off a shot. In the second overtime, the Royal Comets had an eight meter chance turned away again by the West Genny goaltender. Rush-Henrietta would not be denied in the third overtime as senior Ally Garrett connected on her third goal of the game with an 8-meter goal at 2:19 and sent the Royal Comets to victory. Sophomore Catrina Rowe led the Royal Comets comeback with four goals. The win keeps Rush Henrietta undefeated at 6-0.  They will play another tough cross-sectional match-up against a talented Corning team on 4/21. PENN YAN 19 - BISHOP KEARNEY 5 -  [Team Report:]  The Penn Yan Lady Mustangs (1-3) picked up their first win of the season against the Bishop Kearney Lady Kings (0-3) Tuesday night. Freshman Corinne Barden led the team with eight points (5g/2a) while Bailey Cooper added another seven points (5g/2a) along with five ground balls and seven draw controls. Freshman Taylor Mullins had a breakout night for the Mustangs as well with a goal, six assists, four caused turnovers, and nine ground balls. Avery Castner chipped in four points (3g/1a) and two ground balls and Kaley Griffin, three points (2g/1a) and three ground balls. Jammie Decker pulled in three draw controls and netted a goal, and Sophomore Brooklyn Ayers and eighth grader Ruby Berry both added goals for Penn Yan. On defense, Mary D'Abbracci ended the game with two caused turnovers and three ground balls and Aubri Green forced four caused turnovers. For Bishop Kearney, Sophomore Ashley Mandeville led the way for Bishop Kearney with three goals and two ground balls while Senior Brooke George contributed two goals and two draw controls. Senior Caroline Kee picked up five draw controls for the Lady Kings.   [BOXSCORE]
