Monday - First Day of Sectionals

There were seven games played on the first day of the sectionals.

PENFIELD 17 - GREECE STORM 3  - QTR - Also in class A, fourth-seeded Penfield took a 10-1 halftime lead on its way to a 17-3 win over Greece Storm.  Penfield faces top-seeded Rush-Henrietta on Wednesday.  Rylee Brendlinger had seven saves for the Storm.         [BOXSCORE]

AQUINAS 17 - GANANDA-MARION 3  - QTR -  Top-seeded Aquinas advanced to the class D semifinals with a 19-2 victory over Gananda-Marion.  Mackenna Brown (4g), Savannah Hinchcliffe (4g), and Sienna Hinchcliffe (2g/4a) provided the offensive punch for the Little Irish, who also dominated the center circle, winning 19 draw controls.  Aquinas meets Penn Yan on Wednesday.      [BOXSCORE]

WATERLOO 16 - MARCUS WHITMAN 3  - QTR -  Waterloo defeated Marcus Whitman, 16-3, and will face Pal-Mac Wednesday in the class D semis.  Dana Jolly recorded four saves for No. 2 Waterloo, while Natalie DiSanto (6g/1a), Maci Mueller (5g), and Marissa Russell (3g) accounted for the bulk of Waterloo’s scoring.      [BOXSCORE]

FAIRPORT 17 - HILTON 2  - QTR - In class A play, No. 3 seed Fairport routed Hilton, 17-2.  Leading the scoring for Fairport were Lily Kondas (3g), Ella Peers (4g), Katie Mallaber (3g), and Morgan Wrobbel (3g/2a).  Jaelyne Twomey had six saves for the Red Raiders, who advance to face second-seeded Pittsford on Wednesday.       [BOXSCORE]

WAYNE 2 - EASTRIDGE 16  - QTR - In a class C quarterfinal match, fifth-seeded Eastridge defeated Wayne, 16-2.  Skye Gaudio (6g) and Nicole Hetzer (5g/2a) were the major offensive contributors for the Lancers, while Ada Krupa collected 11 draw controls, and Melody Gaudio recorded seven saves.  Eastridge moves on to play No. 1 Honeoye Falls-Lima on Thursday.  Marley Hewitt accounted for both of Wayne’s goals. PAL-MAC 12 - LIVONIA-AVON 7  - QTR - Pal-Mac, the third seed in class D, punched its ticket to the semifinals with a 12-7 win over Livonia-Avon.  The Red Raiders, who play Waterloo on Wednesday, were led by Kylie Waeghe (7g), Reagan Diehl (3g/3a), Molly Seither (2g), and Faith Beals (3s).       [BOXSCORE]

PENN YAN 15 - MYNDERSE-ROMULUS 2  - QTR - The fourth seed in class D, Penn Yan, earned a 15-2 victory over Mynderse-Romulus.  Penn Yan will face Aquinas in a semifinal contest on Wednesday.  Seven players lit the scoring lamp for the Mustangs, including Corinne Barden (2g/1a), Bailey Cooper (4g/1a), Jammie Decker (2g), and Kaley Griffin (4g/1a).  Hannah Parsons stopped 10 shots for Penn Yan.  Bridget Mapstone recorded six saves for Mynderse-Romulus.       [BOXSCORE]
