Victor and HF-L Move to Finals

Of the four teams Section V sent to the semifinal rounds at SUNY Cortland Friday, two won and two went home. Rush-Henrietta lost a 7-6 heartbreaker to Baldwinsville and Pal-Mac lost a tough one to Skaneateles. Honeoye Falls-Lima won their game 16-7 and Victor won their game 15-7.

HONEOYE FALLS-LIMA 16 - FULTON 7  - NYS SEMIFINALS -  [Submitted] HF-L exploded in a 16-7 win against Fulton this afternoon in the state semi-finals. Draws were big for the Cougars, with Ruff (five DC) and Kidd (three DC) giving the cougars possession of the ball. Whitley Easton and Shaye Angelo were the brunt of the offense for the cougars, Easton having ten points (4g-6a) and Angelo 6g. The Cougars will play in the state championship game against Manhasset tomorrow.    [BOXSCORE]     

VICTOR 15 - FAYETTEVILLE-MANLIUS 7  - NYS SEMIFINALS - Victor used many fast break goals and quick movements by their offense to build a 10-5 half and take it home, 15-7. The swarming defense often doubled-teamed and trapped the F-M offense gaining a large amount of ball time on their offensive end where Devin Livingston and Eva Pronti among others took care of scoring. Ava Angello scored 4g for the Hornets who end their season at 12-6. There were no stats from Victor at post time, but the Blue Devils will play Queensbury at 11:30 on Saturday.     [BOXSCORE]     

PAL-MAC 3 - SKANEATELES 15  - NYS SEMIFINALS - Skaneateles was unstoppable today, scoring eleven unanswered goals in the first half and never took their foot off the gas, scoring their fifteenth goal with two seconds left in the game.

Nine different players scored for the Lakers. Leading the list were junior middie Kathryn Morrissey with 4g and Bella Brogan with 3g-1a. Six others had one goal each.

For Pal-Mac Reagan Diehl and Molly Seither each scored 1g-1a. Teagan Hudak had 1g and Kylie Waeghe had 1a. Pal-Mac finishes their excellent season with a record of 16-5. Skaneatles (III) will play Bronxville (I) at 4:30 on Saturday.    [BOXSCORE]     

RUSH-HENRIETTA 6 - BALDWINSVILLE 7  - NYS SEMIFINALS - This was a very close game that came right down to the last few minutes. After a 5-5 tie at the half with each of the five R-H goals scored by different players, the Bees took an early lead at the top of the second period. Ally Garret scored her 36th goal of the season at 8:06 to tie the game at 6-6 and the game remained tied until the last minute of the game. Lena Cox took a shot at 2:03 which was saved and the ball went to the other end. Mia Posse scored the winning goal at 0:27 on a free position and although R-H took the next draw, their last second shot was saved. Rush-Henrietta ends their great season at 16-4 while Baldwinsville will play for the state championship against Northport (XI) on Saturday at 9:00.    [BOXSCORE]
