Fairport and Victor Move On to Championship Day

DAY IN REVIEW: FRIDAY - Fairport and Victor both punched their tickets to the Championship round on Saturday. The Red Raiders beat Suffern 8-7 and the Blue Devils had an 18-5 win against Bethlehem. HF-L fell to John Jay and Penn Yan lost to Bronxville.

SUFFERN-7 at FAIRPORT-8 in a NYS Semifinal game - Fairport built an early 4-0 lead and hung on for the victory.  With the win, the Red Raiders move on to face Massapequa (VIII) for the class A title at 2 p.m. on Sunday at SUNY Cortland.  There were no statistics reported from Fairport (18-2) at post time.    [ BOX SCORE

BETHLEHEM-5 at VICTOR-18 in a NYS Semifinal game - For the defending class B champion Blue Devils, it was their eleventh win in a row, earning them a spot in the class B final where they will meet Garden City (VIII) at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday at SUNY Cortland.  There were no statistics reported from Victor (16-4) at post time.     [ BOX SCORE

JOHN JAY-10 at HONEOYE FALLS-LIMA-8 in a NYS Semifinal game - After falling behind 9-4 in the first half, the Cougars rallied but fell short in their bid to advance to the class C title game.  Leading the scoring for Honeoye Falls-Lima were Shaye Angelo (4g), Paige Kidd (1g/2a), and Clare Ruff (2g/1a).  Goaltender Lily Brady turned away nine shots.  The Cougars completed yet another successful season with a record of 13-8.     [ BOX SCORE

BRONXVILLE-18 at PENN YAN-8 in a NYS Semifinal game - Penn Yan fought hard but was unable to overcome the section 1 powerhouse and defending class D champions from Bronxville.  Taylor Mullins (2g/1a), Corinne Barden (2a), Maihue Miranda-Wiltberger (2g/1a), Bailey Cooper (3g/1a), and Makenna Mullins (1g) supplied the scoring for the Mustangs, who concluded their season with a record of 15-5.     [ BOX SCORE
