Penfield Wins Out of Section Game

DAY IN REVIEW: MONDAY - There were only two games played today. Penfield beat Bethlehem and Fairport fell to CNS.

BETHLEHEM-8 at PENFIELD-11 - The Patriots built a six-goal lead and then withstood a late Bethlehem (II) rally to post their first victory of the young season.  Peyton Rothfuss excelled for Penfield, dominating the draw circle in addition to registering four goals and two assists. Freshman midfielder Avery Fordham scored her first Varsity goal in the game. The Patriots continue the non-league portion of their schedule when they travel to Long Island later this week to face two traditional powerhouses, Cold Spring Harbor (VIII) and Northport (XI).    [ BOX SCORE

FAIRPORT-11 at CNS-14 - The Red Raiders suffered their first loss of the season against a talented C-NS (III) squad.  Ella Peers (4g/2a) led the scoring for Fairport, while ninth-grader Brenna Goss scored her first varsity goal and also collected a team-high four draw controls.  The Raiders take on another tough section III opponent when they travel to Baldwinsville on Friday.     [ BOX SCORE
