Quarters: All Top Seeds Move on

DAY IN REVIEW: MONDAY - There were five quarterfinal games played today (Classes A and D) and all top seeds won their games. Pittsford slides into the #4 spot in Class A. Winners in Class D were Penn Yan, Aquinas, Pal-Mac and Waterloo.

Gananda vs WaterlooMYNDERSE-ROMULUS-7 at AQUINAS-15 - Leading the scoring for No. 4 Aquinas (9-7) were Savannah Hinchcliffe (6g/4a), Brynn Henry (3g/5a), and Marilena Diaz (3g); Henry, a ninth-grader, also collected 10 draw controls.  Liz Tantalo had eight saves for Aquinas.   With the win, the Little Irish advance to the class D semifinals, where they will take on No. 1 Penn Yan on Wednesday.  There were no statistics reported from Mynderse-Romulus (9-8) at post time.         [ BOX SCORE

MARCUS WHITMAN-1 at PENN YAN-19 - It was the Mustangs` sixth consecutive win, and their fifth straight over No. 8 Marcus Whitman dating back to 2019.  There were no statistics reported from No. 1 Penn Yan (14-3) at post time.  Helen Snyder scored the lone goal for Marcus Whitman (0-16).  The Mustangs move on to face No. 4 Aquinas in the class D semifinals on Wednesday.         [ BOX SCORE

Gananda vs WaterlooGANANDA-MARION-8 at WATERLOO-18 - No. 2 Waterloo (13-4) extended its winning streak to seven games.  Maci Mueller and Lainie Forde combined for 11 of the Tigers’ 18 goals; Forde’s first goal of the game was her 50th of the season.  Ava Bailey and ninth-grader Alexis VanNostrand each scored her first varsity goal for the Tigers, who face No. 3 Pal-Mac in the class D semifinals on Wednesday.  There were no statistics reported from Gananda-Marion (3-13) at post time.         [ BOX SCORE

Gananda vs WaterlooLIVONIA-AVON-7 at PAL-MAC-21 -  Nine players scored for No. 3 Pal-Mac (13-4), including Teagan Hudak (5g/1a), Brinn Castrechini (4g/1a), and Jenna Santelli (4g/1a).  For the Red Raiders, who advance to play No. 2 Waterloo in the class D semifinals on Wednesday, it was their sixth straight win and their seventh in a row over the Lakers.   There were no statistics reported from Livonia-Avon (10-7) at post time.       [ BOX SCORE

GREECE STORM-4 at PITTSFORD-18 - With the win, No. 4 Pittsford advances to the class A semifinals, where they will meet No. 1 Penfield on Wednesday.   There were no statistics reported from Pittsford (8-9) at post time.  For Greece, which concludes its season with a record of 9-6, Mara Misiurewicz put the finishing touches on her stellar varsity career with a three-goal performance.        [ BOX SCORE
