Brighton Narrowly Defeats Rush-Henrietta
In a closely-contested Monroe County game on Thursday, Brighton emerged victorious over Rush-Henrietta by a score of 12-10. Senior midfielder Ireland Mistretta led the Bruins with five goals; she also secured 11 draw controls, including the 200th of her varsity career. Riley Lawrence and Ella Brunette added three goals each. Sara Solomon and Alexandra Madison combined for five assists. Goalie Lauren Russell registered six saves. The Bruins' 20 to 6 advantage in the draw circle was key to their victory.
Danielle Garrett was the leading scorer for the Royal Comets, finishing with three goals and an assist. Briea Schlindwein and Isabella Artessa scored two goals apiece, and Taylor Potwin made eight saves.
With Brighton’s win, the series history now stands at 11-6 in Brighton’s favor. The Bruins (2-2) host Victor on April 21, while the Royal Comets (2-2) visit Corning (section IV) next Wednesday. [ Story and BOX SCORE]
