Geneva Triumphs Over Wayne
Geneva built a 12-2 halftime lead en route to a 17-6 win over Wayne. Meghan Forbes (7g/1a), Velia DeMaria (5g/2a), and Allison Marquart (3g/7a) led the scoring for the Panthers. Eighth-grader Giovonna Houghton scored her first varsity goal in the game. Maddie Askin made 10 saves, including the 400th of her career. Wayne did not submit a statistical report.
Geneva is now 8-1 on the season, while Wayne moves to 8-5. The Panthers look ahead to their next game Saturday against Mynderse-Romulus. The Eagles host Newark-Midlakes on Monday. [ Story and BOX SCORE]
