Section Five swept Section Six in the State Quarter Finals. Canandaigua defeated Hamburg 16-6, HFL defeated Lake Shore 16-12, Pal-Mac defeated East Aurora 17-0 and Pittsford defeated Frontier 15-1. The Panthers and Red Raiders also won the Boys Western Regional Championships and both schools with have 2 teams in thate State Semi-Finalsection Five swept Section Six in the State Quarter Finals. Four Section Five teams came into Friday Semi-Final matchups; but only two advanced to the Finals. Pittsford defeated CBA 9-7 and HFL defeated Vestal 8-7 in overtime. Canandaigua fell to Fayetteville-Manlius 17-11 and Pal-Mac fell to Skaneateles 10-7. Pittsford's Ellie Mooney scored the game winning goal in the second overtime period off an 8m free position shot to give Pittsford the Class A State Title. This is the first State Title for the Panthers and the first in Class A for Section Five. Section Five has only won four State Titles with the last time being Brighton in 2005. Pittsford defeated Middle Country 10-9. Jenna Doyle (2g) was named Tournament MVP. Pittsford and HFL both advanced to play in the State Finals. The Panthers defeated Middle Country 10-9 in double overtime to secure their first State Title. The Cougars fell to Mt. Sinai 15-4. Finger Lakes end of season awards come in with 25 First and 24 Second Team All County Players. There are also 20 Honorable Mention Players. In addition, there were 2 All Americans and 2 Academic All Americans. As well as Defense Player of the Year, a Midfield Player of the Year and an Attack Player of the Yearinger Lakes end of season awards come in with 25 First and 24 Second Team All County Players.
