Monday: CA Over Pittsford, Reds Over Lakers each By one Goal

DAY IN REVIEW: MONDAY - It was a busy day with eleven games played today, including a staggering 26-16 win by Aquinas. Canandaigua had a close game with Pittsford as did Newark-Midlakes who beat Livonia-Avon by one.

BROCKPORT-2 at THOMAS-18 -  Thomas convincingly defended its home turf this evening with a dominating 18-2 win over Brockport.  The win improved Thomas’ record to 3-5, and drops Brockport to 0.500 at 3-3.  For Thomas, Kolbi Spencer scored her 100th career point in the game, while Jocelin McCann, Cameron Rittler, and Olivia Mabe all scored their first varsity goals. Thomas will look to extend its winning streak against R-H this Saturday, while Brockport hopes to bounce back against HF-L on Wednesday.     [ BOX SCORE

LIVONIA-AVON-9 at NEWARK-MIDLAKES-10 -  Newark-Midlakes (4-3) rallied from a two-goal halftime deficit to claim the victory.  Stella Del Papa led the Reds with three goals and two assists.  Malia Brown and Kate Mahoney chipped in two goals apiece.   Melea Kuzmenko had 10 saves.  There were no statistics reported from Livonia-Avon (3-3) at post time.  The Reds host Niagara-Wheatfield (VI) in a non-league matchup on Saturday.  The Bulldogs resume play Tuesday when they travel to Pal-Mac.    [ BOX SCORE

CANANDAIGUA-8 at PITTSFORD-7 - The Canandaigua Braves squeaked out a huge win against the Pittsford Panthers 8-7 at Pittsford Sutherland tonight.  The Braves opened up a 4-2 lead at the half, and were ahead 7-3 with 18 minutes to go when Pittsford mounted a comeback to cut the lead to 1 on two separate occasions, however, were never able to even the score.  Liv Schorr (3g-1a, 3 DC, 3 CT,  3 GB) and Hanna Davis (1g-4a) led the Braves to victory, while Makenna Crouse 3g, 4 DC, 1 CT, 3 GB) also had a strong evening.  Nola Weaver was also a key to Canandaigua’s ability to win causing 3 turnovers and collecting 2 Ground Balls with relentless riding, including securing Canandaigua’s final possession of the game by causing a turnover during a ride.  For Pittsford, 4 of their 7 goals were scored on 8-meter shots, with Senior Ellie Bergin (3g) scoring a Hat Trick, And Freshman Cecily Kaul (2g) accounting for 2 points.      [ BOX SCORE

PENFIELD-3 at BRIGHTON-12 - Brighton (3-4) successfully defended its home field against the visiting Patriots from Penfield (4-5).  There were no statistics reported from either team at post time.  Both teams look to return to .500 in home games on Wednesday; Brighton faces Pittsford, while Penfield takes on Rush-Henrietta.     [ BOX SCORE

MYNDERSE-ROMULUS-13 at GENEVA-14 - It was the Panthers' second win of the season against four losses.  For the Blue Devils, it was their third straight loss after opening the season with four consecutive victories.  Haley Mosch (5g) and Kelly Kohberger (4g/2a) combined for nine goals in a losing effort.  There were no statistics reported from Geneva at post time.  On Wednesday, the Panthers visit Pal-Mac, while the Blue Devils travel to Wayne for a contest against the Eagles.    [ BOX SCORE

IRONDEQUOIT-19 at CHURCHVILLE-CHILI-3 -  Irondequoit beat Churchville-Chili 19-3 this evening to improve their record to 5-4, while dropping the Saints to 2-5.  Irondequoit was dominant early, jumping out to a 13-1 Halftime advantage.  Irondequoit cruised to victory using the handiwork of Seniors Maeve Brennan (3g-3a, 2 CT, 6 GB), Kennedi Landrigan (4g-1a, 1 CT, 1 GB), and Even Terzioglu (3g-2a, 3 DC, 2 GB).  Junior Ella Brennan (3g-2a, 5 DC, 2 GB) also had an outstanding game.  Irondequoit travels to Victor on Friday for a mid-season Class B showdown, while Churchville Chili will face-off against Greece Storm on Wednesday.     [ BOX SCORE

HILTON-4 at HONEOYE FALLS-LIMA-16 -  HFL tops Hilton 16-4 tonight to improve to 4-2. 8 different Cougars scored, 4 with hat tricks. Paige Kidd led the Cougars on the draw circle with five draw controls. The Cougars will travel to Brockport on Wednesday to take on the Blue Devils. AQUINAS-26 at NARDIN ACADEMY-16 - In the highest scoring game of the season, Aquinas outscored Nardin Academy 26-16.  The high scorers for Aquinas were Sienna Hinchcliffe (6g-3a, 8 DC, 2 CT, 3 GB) Carissa Schneider (4g-4a, 5 DC, 2 CT), and Savannah Hinchcliffe (6g, 7 DC, 1 GB), although many of the Lil’ Irish scored multiple points as part of the offensive explosion that marked this game.  Aquinas next opponent is Bishop Kearney tomorrow.     [ BOX SCORE

GANANDA-MARION-1 at WAYNE-10 - The Eagles built an 8-0 halftime lead and cruised to their second victory of the season.  Marley Hewitt had three goals for Wayne.  Isabella Veltre, Madelyn Hillman, and Samantha Branner scored two goals each.  Mimi Ugalde had four saves.  There were no statistics reported from Gananda-Marion at post time.  The Eagles take on the visiting Blue Devils from Mynderse-Romulus on Wednesday.  The Blue Panthers look to bounce back Wednesday when they travel to Penn Yan.    [ BOX SCORE

RUSH-HENRIETTA-18 at CORNING-11 -  Rush-Henrietta (7-0) continued its undefeated season, behind four-goal performances by Avery Roberts, Ashlyn Roberts, and Catrina Rowe.  The Royal Comets resume league play on Wednesday when they visit Penfield.      [ BOX SCORE

WATERLOO-MARCUS WHITMAN-9 at SCHROEDER-7 -  Waterloo-Marcus Whitman (3-3) trailed by two at the half but fought back to earn the victory.  Lindsay Ruffalo had three goals and Ava Dossier recorded six draw controls for Schroeder.  There were no statistics reported from Waterloo-Marcus Whitman at post time. The Tigers host Bishop Kearney on Wednesday.  For the Warriors, their next game is also on Wednesday when they visit Hilton.   [ BOX SCORE
