Pittsford defeated West Islip (Section 11) 11-5 to secure their spot in the Class A State Finals.  The Panthers will face Christian Brothers Academy (Section 3) tomorrow at 9:30 AM.  If the Panther's succeed they will be the first Class A NYS Champion for Section Five.  Garden City (Section 8) defeated Victor 15-11 to move on and face Yorktown (Section 1) for the Class B Championship.  Mount Sinai (Section 11) defeated HFL 10-3 to move on to face Skaneateles (Section 3) for the Class C Championship.

Victor and Garden City played close for a half before Garden City scored three goals to end the first half and two more to start the second.  That 5 goal streak gave them a 10-6 lead and the Blue Devils could not fight back.  Senior Emily Hawryschuk scored three straight goals late in the second half to bring the game within 3, but that was closest that they got.   Our scoring table is based on the @NYSPHSAA twitter account and may be updated by Victor.  Hawryshuk finished with 4g for the Blue Devils.  Bridget Flynn finished with 3g-2a.  Additional stats are HERE.

Mt. Sinai scored eight of the last nine goals and continued to extend their lead in the second half.  The game was tied 2-2 early on before Mt. Sinai had their scoring run.  Caitlin Muir finished with a hand in all three goals (2g-1a).
