Rush-Henrietta Wins A Close One

DAY IN REVIEW: WEDNESDAY - There were ten games played today and although most were mismatches the Rush-Henrietta-Fairport game went to the last quarter.

RUSH-HENRIETTA-8 at FAIRPORT-7 - The Royal Comets avenged last year’s season-ending defeat to Fairport.  Kate DeWald (3g/3a) scored off a free position with just over 30 seconds remaining for the final margin of victory.  Catrina Rowe also tallied three goals for Rush-Henrietta.  Katie Mallaber led Fairport with four goals.  On Friday, the Royal Comets host Penfield, while the Red Raiders travel to Hilton to take on the Cadets.   [ BOX SCORE]

Penn Yan vs GenevaHONEOYE FALLS-LIMA-9 at CANANDAIGUA-15 - Canandaigua led the HFL Cougars from wire to wire, earning a 15-9 victory in their home opener, and improving their record to 4-0.  Another balanced scoring effort from the Great Wolves was led by seniors Hanna Davis (4g, 2a) and Caroline Lyttle (2g, 2a).  Nola Weaver (2g) logged an impressive 4 caused turnovers as well, while Junior Samantha Lupton (3g) also notched a Hat trick.  Sophomore attacker Shaye Angelo (6g), Sophomore defensive midfielder Sarah Smith (1g-3a), and Senior offensive player Katie Adams (1a) made the book for HFL. The loss drops the Cougars record to 0-3, and they will have the opportunity to get their first win of the season on Friday when they face Brockport.      [ BOX SCORE

IRONDEQUOIT-14 at CHURCHVILLE-CHILI-3 - Irondequoit came away from Churchville-Chili this evening with their first win of the season beating the Saints 14-3 and dropping Churchville Chili’s record to 0-3.  Ella Brennan (3g,1a) was the high point scorer for the Eagles, while Alison Baumgartner (2g,1a) and Grace Bottiglier (2g,1a) each posted 3 point nights.  Senior Madelyn Thore helped the Eagles retain possession and build their lead by winning 10 Draw Controls.  Campbell Hewlett (1g,1a) was a multi-point scorer for Churchville-Chili, who will look to mark the win column on Friday against the Greece Storm, while Irondequoit will be hosting Spencerport on Friday as well.     [ BOX SCORE

GENEVA-5 at PENN YAN-15 - Penn Yan improved to 4-1 tonight with 15-5  home victory over Geneva.  Allie Good (3g,1a) and Kaitlyn Wright (2g,2a) accounted for Geneva’s scoring.  No Book was submitted for Penn Yan at time of post.     [ BOX SCORE

WATERLOO-13 at MYNDERSE-ROMULUS-5 - Waterloo travelled to Mynderse and posted a 13-5 victory over Mynderse-Romulus.  Myah Herron (2g) led the Blue Devils in defeat as the only multi-point scorer while also collecting 7 Draw Controls, 3 GB’s and Casting a turnover. Maria Del Carmen had 7 saves in goal for Mynderse-Romulus. No book was submitted for Waterloo at time of post.     [ BOX SCORE

EASTRIDGE/BK-19 at GATES CHILI-9 - Eastridge and Gates-Chili opened up their seasons at Gates-Chili this evening and Eastridge/BK came away victorious with a 19-9 win.  No book was submitted for either team at time of post.  Eastridge/BK will look to improve to 2-0 against Geneva on Friday, while Gates-Chili will cross town to face Churchville-Chili on 4/15.     [ BOX SCORE

Penn Yan vs GenevaCORNING-5 at MERCY-14 -  The Monarchs’ win over Corning (IV) was their first of the season.  Mercy had several multi-goal scorers, including Sydney Cook (3g/2a), Emma Kravetz (2g), Mia Quagrello (2g/1a), and Lydia Malvaso (2g).  Ninth-grader Elinor Meyer registered four saves for the Monarchs, who visit Fairport on Monday.   [ BOX SCORE

GREECE STORM-15 at BROCKPORT-10 - Greece evened its record at 1-1.  Mara Misiurewicz accounted for eight Storm goals.  Erica Savage (4g/3a), Emma Carlson (3g/4a), and Emma Dioguardi (1a) contributed the remainder of Greece’s scoring; Savage also recorded nine draw controls.  For Brockport, Zoe Baase lit up the scoresheet, with five goals, one assist, seven draw controls, four ground balls, and two caused turnovers.  Audrey Nichols and ninth-grader Allison Cole each tallied her first varsity goal for the Blue Devils, who travel to HF-L on Friday to take on the Cougars. The Storm is home to Churchville-Chili on Friday.     [ BOX SCORE

SCHROEDER-4 at SPENCERPORT-14 -  With the win, Spencerport not only remains undefeated (5-0) but also ties its series history with Schroeder at nine victories apiece.  Molly Guzik (4g/1a) and ninth-grader Joey Cerretto (3g) paced the attack for the Rangers, who visit Irondequoit on Friday.  Next on the schedule for Schroeder is a home contest against Canandaigua, also on Friday.   [ BOX SCORE

HILTON-6 at THOMAS-14 - The Titans, who won their eleventh consecutive match against Hilton, earned their first victory of the young season.  There were no statistics reported from Thomas at post time.  Ryleigh Lent had four goals for the Cadets, while eighth-grader Ava Tata collected four draw controls.  The Titans visit Pittsford on Friday for a game against the Panthers.  The Cadets take on the visiting Red Raiders from Fairport on Friday.    [ BOX SCORE
