Aquinas-WOIS, Irondequoit, and CA Lead the Action
DAY IN REVIEW: SATURDAY - Aquinas-WOIS edged Frontier (section VI) 14-13, with Savannah Hinchcliffe scoring eight goals to lead the way. Irondequoit claimed a 13-7 win over Pal-Mac, powered by four goals from Revlie Genier and three from Lucy Whipple. Canandaigua defeated Orchard Park (section VI) 13-9, behind five goals and three assists from Leah Sheridan. In the two remaining games, Rush-Henrietta topped Thomas 11-5, and Lancaster (section VI) overcame Schroeder by a score of 6 to 3.
THOMAS-5 at RUSH-HENRIETTA-11 - Rush-Henrietta defeated Thomas 11-5 in a Monroe County game, earning its first win of the season. Danielle Garrett led the scoring with three goals and three assists, while goalie Taylor Potwin made 11 saves. For the Titans, ninth-grader Carly Fitch and sophomore Brynn Becker scored their first varsity goals. Rush-Henrietta has now won six consecutive matchups against Thomas since 2018. [ BOX SCORE]
PAL-MAC-7 at IRONDEQUOIT-13 - Irondequoit defeated Pal-Mac 13-7, pulling away in the second half behind four goals from Revlie Genier and three from Lucy Whipple. Ninth-grader Rylee Conlon scored her first varsity goal. Irondequoit goalies Emma Francis and Mia Conine combined for five saves. For Pal-Mac, Teagan Hudak and Baylee Vilord each scored twice, and Tessa Camelo finished with 10 saves. Irondequoit remains undefeated against Pal-Mac in seven games between the teams since 2015. AQUINAS-WOIS-14 at FRONTIER-13 - Aquinas-WOIS narrowly defeated Frontier 14-13 in a non-league game, led by Savannah Hinchcliffe’s eight goals. Brynn Henry added two goals and three assists, while Lily Bell scored her first varsity goal. The Little Irish built a 10-2 halftime advantage and held on for the win. [ BOX SCORE]
LANCASTER-6 at SCHROEDER-3 - Lancaster defeated Schroeder 6-3 in a non-league match on April 5, maintaining a narrow lead throughout much of the game. Molly Meyer led Schroeder with two goals, supported by one goal from Brooke Guelli. Maura Ugine recorded seven saves. Schroeder resumes its schedule Tuesday with a contest against Pittsford. CANANDAIGUA-13 at ORCHARD PARK-9 - Canandaigua earned a 13-9 victory over Orchard Park in a non-league game, improving its record to 2-0. Leah Sheridan led the Gray Wolves` attack with five goals and three assists, while also securing 11 draw controls. Lola Schorr contributed three goals and three assists.
