strong>DAY IN REVIEW: SATURDAY - In the only game played today, Churchville-Chili advanced to the quarterfinal round with a close win of 5-4 over Hilton.

HILTON-4 at CHURCHVILLE-CHILI-5 - In the only game of the pre-quarter round in class B, No. 8 Churchville-Chili edged out No. 9 Hilton.  It was the teams` third meeting of the year, with the Cadets winning on opening day and the Saints taking the rematch two weeks ago.  For Churchville-Chili (8-8), Campbell Hewlett and Abigail DeVries scored two goals apiece, Shavonne Callahan added a goal and three assists, and Mikayla Mellenthine had seven saves.  There were no statistics reported from Hilton at post time.  With the win, the Saints advance to the class B quarterfinals, where they will meet No. 1 Canandaigua on Tuesday.  Hilton concludes its season with a record of 5-12.      [ BOX SCORE]

# 692  Brighton, Churchville-Chili and Penn Yan Win
CANANDAIGUA-6 at BRIGHTON-9 - For the Bruins, who continue to battle following a slow start to their season, it was their third victory in their last four games.  Riley Lawrence had three goals and Ella Brunette added two more to pace the attack for Brighton (7-8).  There were no statistics reported from Canandaigua (13-2) at post time.   Each team concludes its regular season on Thursday, with the Bruins visiting Mercy and the Gray Wolves traveling to Churchville-Chili to take on the Saints.         [ BOX SCORE] 

CHURCHVILLE-CHILI-13 at MYNDERSE-ROMULUS-3 -  With the win, the Saints evened their season record at 7-7.  Alexi Finnigan led Churchville-Chili with four goals, one assist, and eight draw controls.  Rorey Turk, Mackenzie Marsh, and Shavonne Callahan each had two goals for Churchville-Chili, and Mikayla Mellenthine recorded six saves.  Amelia Reese, Chelsea Korzeniewski, and Macey Seneca were the goal scorers for Mynderse-Romulus (8-7).   The Saints are home to Canandaigua on Thursday.  The Blue Devils host Gananda-Marion on Wednesday.       [ BOX SCORE]

PAL-MAC-20 at NEWARK-MIDLAKES-5 - Ten different players scored goals for Pal-Mac in this game.  Leading the scoring for Pal-Mac (8-4) were Anna Priebe (5g), Jenna Santelli (2g-1a), Baylee Vilord (3g), Jolie Bourgeois (2g-1a), Brinn Castrechini (2g-1a), and Reagan Diehl (1g-1a).  There was no report from Newark-Midlakes at post-time.       [ BOX SCORE]

GREECE STORM-8 at SCHROEDER-17 -  Leading the scoring for Schroeder (7-5) were Molly Meyer (3g-1a), Makenna Baier (3g-1a), Kylee Race (4g), Madison Dodge (1g-1a), Brooke Guelli (1g-2a), and Lindsay Ruffalo (1g). Senior defender Rachel DeMocker (Schroeder) scored her first Varsity goal in this game. Leading the scoring for Greece Storm (7-4) were Erica Savage (1g-3a), Mara Misiurewicz (4g), Emma Carlson (1g), and Emma Dioguardi (2g). CNS-7 at PENFIELD-8 -  Ninth-grader Whitney Reynolds scored the go-ahead goal with less than four minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, and Penfield (9-4) won the ensuing draw and ran out the clock to seal the win.  Emma Alexander and Reegan Sercu each had three goals for the Patriots, and Karis Hand recorded eight saves.  For the Northstars of C-NS (III), it was only their second loss of the season.  Penfield hosts class A rival Pittsford on Wednesday.     [ BOX SCORE]   

PENN YAN-10 at SPENCERPORT-9 - With the win, Penn Yan improved its record to 10-3; for the Rangers, it was their third consecutive loss.  Bailey Cooper had a game-high four goals for the Mustangs, and Marion Wheeler registered seven saves.  Brooke Endres led Spencerport (8-6) with three goals.  Penn Yan is home to Mercy on Friday.  The Rangers seek to end their recent streak when they host Brockport on Wednesday.          [ BOX SCORE]   - - More images in the photo gallery. 

IRONDEQUOIT-14 at MERCY-13 -  Lucy Whipple scored in overtime to give the Eagles the win.  Leading the scoring for Irondequoit (6-6) were Madelyn Thore (3g/1a) and Ella Brennan (4g/1a).  Emma Francis had nine saves for the Eagles.  For Mercy (7-6), Mia Quagrello and ninth-grader Maeve Shanahan scored three goals apiece.  Irondequoit hosts Schroeder on Wednesday.  The Monarchs look to get back on the winning track when they visit Penn Yan on Friday.         [ BOX SCORE]

Section V went two-for-two against out of Section teams as Canandaigua beat Orchard Park (Section VI) and Rush-Henrietta took out Fayetteville-Manlius (Section III).

strong>DAY IN REVIEW: MONDAY - [ UPDATED] The Girls season opened today with the temperature in the 50's. A bunch of 8th graders scored their first varsity goal in the Hilton win. Senior midfielder Molly Guzik (Spencerport) reached her 150th goal with her 5 goals (152g) and reached her 50th assist with her 4 assists (52a).

CHURCHVILLE-CHILI-5 at HILTON-14. In the Section V season opener, the Cadets emerged victorious behind a balanced attack featuring Lilly Mattucci (3g/3a) and Elena Graziano (5a).  Charley Barlette added two goals for Hilton while also collecting five ground balls and causing three turnovers.  The Cadets resume their schedule on April 10 when they visit Thomas. Leading the scoring for Churchville-Chili were Shavonne Callahan (1g-1a) and Mercy Payne (2g-0a),   [ BOX SCORE] 

SCHROEDER-7 at PAL-MAC-4 - in a Non-League game: The Warriors opened their season with a win for new coach Emery Fleck.   Teagan Hudek led the Pal-Mac attack with two goals, while Isabelle Cole recorded six saves.  The Red Raiders look to get on the winning track when they host Marcus Whitman on Wednesday. Leading the scoring for Schroeder with 1g-1a were Brooke Guelli,  Molly Meyer, and Kylee Race. Sophomore midfielder Kylie Clement scored her first Varsity goal in the game.    [ BOX SCORE] 

BRIGHTON-8 at SPENCERPORT-10 - in a Non-League game: Spencerport won a tightly contested match against the visitors from Brighton.  Molly Guzik (5g/4a), Brooke Endres (2g/1a), Alyssa Nichols (2g), Aria Pittman (1g), and Sophia Marron (1a) provided all the scoring for Spencerport.  The Rangers look to make it two wins in a row on Wednesday when they travel to HF-L to face the Cougars. Leading the scoring for Brighton were junior midfielder Ireland Mistretta (2g-1a), junior midfielder Ella Brunette (2g), and senior attacker Lucy Lederman (2g).
