# 706 2024 All League Awards [UPDATED] The annual All-League Awards have been posted and are available on the player pages as well as the awards page. The Finger Lakes League awarded first team awards to Reagan Diehl, Chelsea Korzeniewski, Anna Priebe, Jenna Santelli, Taryn Goodness, Sidney Clickner, Stella Del Papa, Lainie Forde, Colleen Ginsberg, Myah Herron, Madelyn Hillman, Teagan Hudak, Maci Mueller, Bailey Rossignol, Maddie Whitford, and Amelia Reese. The Attack Player of the Year was Chelseas Korzaneski from Mynderse-Romulus. The Defender Player of the Year was Taryn Goodness from Pal-Mac. The Midfield Player of the Year was Maci Muller from Waterloo who was also named Finger Lakes Player of the Year. The Head Coach of the Year was E.J. Burse (Pal-Mac). The USA Lacrosse All-Americans were Molly Guzik (Spencerport), Hanna Davis (Canandaigua), Devin Livingston (Victor), Ella Peers (Fairport) and Reagan Diehl (Pal-Mac. The All-Academics were Lucy Lederman (Brighton), Angelia Oechsle (Rush-Henrietta), Katie Mallaber (Fairport), and Allie Chimenti ((Wayne). The Monroe County League first team D-1 awards to Katie Mallaber, Madison Van Gorder, Lilly Mattucci, Jenna Capozzi, Peyton Rothfuss, Cecily Kaul, Dani Mooney, Angelia Oechsle, Catrina Rowe, Danielle Garrett, Kate Dewald, Abby Murphy, Allie Pisano, Julia Bruno, Maia Pronti, Ryann Savage, Lucy Ruller, and Mia Estelle. The D-1 Defensive Player of The Year was Devin Livingston (Victor). The D-1 Offensive Player of The Year was Ella Peers (Fairport) and the Coach of the Year was Dave York (Penfield). The Monroe County League awarded first team D-2 awards to Zoe Baase, Caroline Lyttle, Hanna Davis, Leah Sheridan, Nola Weaver, Campbell Hewlett, Paige Kidd, Shaye Angelo, Ali Baumgartner, Ella Brennan, Emma Francis, Alyssa Nichols, Brooke Endres, and Molly Meyer. The D-2 Defensive Player of The Year was Rose Heagney (Canandaigua). The D-2 Offensive Player of The Year was Molly Guzik (Spencerport) and the Coach of the Year was Kevin O`Connell (HFL) who was also selected as the Monroe County Coach of the Year. The Independent teams also selected awards in 2024. First teams awards went to Mia Lusardi, Krista Harnischfeger, Elinor Meyer, Marina Reddington, Emma Kravetz, Savannah Hinchcliffe, Brynn Henry, Kessa Sangasy, Ada Krupa, Jill Willis, Erica Savage, and Mara Misiurewicz. # 699 Canandaigua and Victor win Close 7-6 Games EASTRIDGE/BK-8 at HONEOYE FALLS-LIMA-20 - Eight different players scored goals for Honeoye Falls-Lima (9-9) including sophomore attacker Shaye Angelo (4g-2a), senior attacker Camryn Trybuskiewicz (3g-3a), junior midfielder Rylee Bennett (5g), and sophomore defender Anna DeClerck (2g). Cougar senior goalie Lily Brady recorded 5s/4ga = 56% (36 mins). There was no report from Eastridge/BK (11-6) at post-time. HFL will play Mercy on Wednesday for the Class C Championship. [ BOX SCORE] BRIGHTON-6 at VICTOR-7 - The closely matched teams tied numerous times, scoring two goals each in the first and second quarters. Victor took a one goal lead after three quarters but Brighton tied it up again in the last stanza. Libby Boland scored her lone goal with fifty-three second left in regulation to send the Blue Devils to the Championship game against Canandaigua on Wednesday. Leading the scoring for Victor (15-3) were Devin Livingston (3g), Maia Pronti (1a), Allie Pisano (1a), Morgan Livingston (1g), Camryn Adrid (1g), and Libby Boland (1g). In the goal for Victor was senior Maggie Allen with 6s/4ga = 60% (48 mins). Scoring for Brighton (9-9) were Riley Lawrence (2g), Lucy Lederman (3g), Ireland Mistretta (1g), and Alexandra Madison (2a). [ BOX SCORE] SPENCERPORT-6 at CANANDAIGUA-7 - In the other semifinal Class B game, top seeded Canandaigua edged out Spencerport (#4) by a one goal margin. Scoring for the Rangers were Molly Guzik (2g), Brooke Endres (3g), and Aria Pittman (1g). Guzik ends her scholastic career with 166g-124a in five years on the Varsity. She will move on to Syracuse University in the fall. There was no report from Canandaigua (16-2) at post-time but the Grey Wolves will play Victor for the Class B Championship on Wednesday. # 650 Penn Yan and Waterloo Both Win by One Goal RUSH-HENRIETTA-16 at THOMAS-0 - The Royal Comets enjoyed a successful season opener, led by the scoring of junior Danielle Garrett (4g/3a), sophomore Kate DeWald (4g/1a), ninth-grader Emma DeWald (3g), and sophomore Riley Brown (3g). Kate DeWald also collected nine draw controls, including the 100th of her career. On April 4, Rush-Henrietta travels to West Genesee to play a team to be determined, and Thomas visits Pittsford. [ BOX SCORE] MARCUS WHITMAN-3 at PAL-MAC-19 - Of the nine different players who scored for the Red Raiders, five scored their first Varsity goal: Anabelle Grant, Kenzie Miller, Claire Nolan, Brinn Castrechini and Lia Donaher. Sophomore Aliysiah Clark scored her first Varsity goal for Marcus Whitman. [ BOX SCORE] SPENCERPORT-12 at HONEOYE FALLS-LIMA-6 - Spencerport defeated HFL this evening in HFL by a score of 12-6. Molly Guzik led the Rangers with 4 goals, 4 assists and 8 Draw Controls, while Share Angelo (3g) was the leading scorer for the Cougars. Spencerport carried a slim 5-4 lead into the half but pulled away in the final two frames to double up the Cougars by games end. [ BOX SCORE] PENFIELD-6 at VICTOR-14 - Penfield fell short in its contest against last year’s class B champions. Allie Pisano (4g/1a), Devin Livingston (4g/1a), Julia Bruno (3g/1a), and Maia Pronti (4a) provided the lion’s share of the scoring for Victor. There were no statistics reported from Penfield at post time. .Both teams have non-league contests against section II opponents next week; Penfield hosts Bethlehem on April 1, and Victor travels to Saratoga Springs on April 4. [ BOX SCORE] CANANDAIGUA-21 at BROCKPORT-1 - The Canandaigua Gray Wolves travelled to Brockport this evening to open their season with a 21-1 victory. Hanna Davis (4g-2a), Samantha Lupton (5g-1a), and Leah Sheridan (4g-2a) each tallied 6 points in the convincing win. Zoe Baase scored the lone goal for Brockport while Goalie Jessica Maher notched 10 saves. Brockport will try to shake off the loss tomorrow against Gananda-Marion, while Canandaigua will wait a week before their next contest when they will visit Mercy on 4/3. [ BOX SCORE] FAIRPORT-11 at BRIGHTON-7 - Fairport opened its season in defense of its class A title with a win at Brighton. Lily Kondas (5g) and Katie Mallaber (3g) led the Red Raiders’ attack, while Taylor Frank made nine saves. For the Bruins, Ella Brunette and Alexandra Madison had two goals apiece. On April 1, Fairport has a non-league matchup against Cicero-North Syracuse (III). Brighton plays next on April 12, when they host Victor. [ BOX SCORE] GREECE STORM-11 at WATERLOO-12 - In a tightly contested match, the Warriors prevailed, earning head coach Matthew VanDamme his first varsity win. For Waterloo, Maci Mueller scored seven goals, Lainie Forde chipped in four goals, and sophomore Bailey Rossignol notched her first career goal. Mara Misiurewicz scored five goals and Ava Torrence recorded 12 saves for the Storm. Both teams are off until April 10, when Waterloo hosts Mynderse-Romulus and Greece hosts Brockport. [ BOX SCORE] |
