Penfield Triumphs Over Rush-Henrietta

2025-04-29 - Penfield defeated Rush-Henrietta 14-9 in a Monroe County game on Tuesday. It was the Patriots' first win over their class A rival since 2018. The Patriots started strong, gaining a 6-1 first-quarter advantage which the Royal Comets were unable to overcome. Leading the attack for Penfield were Peyton Rothfuss (4g/1a), Whitney Reynolds (2g/2a), Avery Fordham (3g), and Jenna Capozzi (3g). Peyton Rothfuss, Avery Fordham, and Jenna Capozzi also combined to collect 18 draw controls. Karis Hand had five saves for Penfield.

For Rush-Henrietta, Kate DeWald led the offense with three goals, and Isabella Artessa and Taylee Bernarduci scored two goals each. Goalie Taylor Potwin recorded seven saves.
