# 1056  2025 All League Awards and More

[UPDATED] The annual All-League Awards have been posted and are available on the player pages as well as the awards page.

The Finger Lakes League awarded first team awards to Jenna Santelli, Brinn Castrechini, 
Lily Boesel, Baylee Vilord, Kinsley Bree, Bailey Rossignol, Meghan Forbes, Maddie Askin, Makenna Harris, Laurne Twist, Sam Branner, Maddie Whitford, Lily Rowe, Chelsea Korzeniewski, Zoey Overslaugh.

 The Finger Lakes Player of the Year was Maci Muller from Waterloo. The Co-Attack Players of the Year were Isabella Veltre from Wayne and Myah Herron from Mynderse-Romulus. The Defender Player of the Year was Taryn Goodness from Pal-Mac. The Midfield Player of the Year was Teagan Hudak from Pal-Mac. The Head Coach of the Year was, once again, E.J. Burse (Pal-Mac).

The USA Lacrosse All-Americans were Bailey Cooper (Penn Yan), Maci Mueller (Waterloo), Ella Peers (Fairport), Ireland Mistretta (Brighton) and  Peyton Rothfuss (Penfield). The All-Academics were Kate DeWald (Rush-Henrietta), Emma Francis (Irondequoit), Lauren Garringer (Pittsford), and Brin Gotham (Victor).

The Monroe County League first team D-1 awards to Camryn DuBose (Fairport), Ellie Miller (Fairport), Madison Van Gorder (Fairport), Lilly Mattucci (Hilton), Alyson Welz (Penfield), Avery Fordham (Penfield), Emma Alexander (Penfield), Jenna Capozzi (Penfield), Peyton Rothfuss (Penfield), Cecily Kaul (Pittsford), Ella Murphy (Pittsford), Lauren Garringer (Pittsford), Danielle Garrett (Rush-Henrietta), Kate DeWald (Rush-Henrietta), Taylee Bernarduci (Rush-Henrietta), Allie Pisano (Victor), Julia Bruno (Victor), Lila Kubrich (Victor), Maia Pronti (Victor).

The D-1 Defensive Player of The Year was Brin Gotham (Victor). The D-1 Offensive Player of The Year was, again, Ella Peers (Fairport) and the Coach of the Year was, again, Dave York (Penfield) who was also named USA Lacrosse Coach of the Year from Section V. 

The Monroe County League awarded first team D-2 awards to Alexandra Madison (Brighton), Ella Brunette (Brighton), Ireland Mistretta (Brighton), Leah Sheridan (Canandaigua), Maddie Passalacqua (Canandaigua), Ellie Bottiglier (Irondequoit), Emma Francis (Irondequoit), Lucy Whipple (Irondequoit), Brooke Endres (Spencerport), Raquel Circhirillo (Spencerport), Lola Wambach (Schroeder), Carly Fitch (Thomas).

The D-2 Defensive Player of The Year was Emma Francis (Irondequoit). The D-2 Offensive Player of The Year was Ireland Mistretta (Brighton) and the Coach of the Year was Mike Butler (Irondequoit).

The Monroe County League awarded first team D-3 awards to Molly McJury (Brockport), Campbell Hewlett (Churchville-Chili), Shavonne Callahan (Churchville-Chili), Evie Amesbury (Gates Chili), Harper Jacob (HFL), Shayne Angelo (HFL), and Tessa Peinkofer (HFL).

The D-3 Defensive Player of The Year was Tessa Peinkofer (HFL). The D-3 Offensive Player of The Year was Shaye Angelo (HFL) and the Coach of the Year was Kristen Butka (HFL). 

The Independent teams also selected awards in 2024. First team awards went to Ada Krupa (Eastridge/BK), Brynn Henry (Aquinas), Maeve Shanahan (Mercy), Emma Kravetz (Mercy), Kessa Sangasy (Aquinas), Lila Hansen (Penn Yan), Maihue Miranda-Wiltberger (Penn Yan), Makenna Mullins (Penn Yan), Mia Lusardi (Mercy), Mia Quagrello (Mercy), Neely Hawn (Eastridge/BK), Savanah Hinchcliffe (Aquinas). The Independent Player of the Year was Bailey Cooper (Penn Yan).

# 1053  Victor and Penfield Win in Semifinals
AY IN REVIEW: FRIDAY - Section V enjoyed a successful day in Cortland on Friday, as Penfield and Victor each won and advanced to the championship game in its respective class. Penfield held off CNS (Section III) 13-10, fueled by standout performances from Peyton Rothfuss (5g/2a), Jenna Capozzi (4g/2a), and goaltender Karis Hand (10s). The Patriots now gear up for the NYS class A title match against Suffern (Section I), to take place Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at SUNY Cortland. Meanwhile, Victor dominated Columbia (Section II) in a decisive 17-3 win, led by Morgan Livingston (3g/3a) and Maia Pronti (4a). The Blue Devils seek their fourth consecutive NYS class B championship when they take on Garden City (Section VIII) Saturday at 2 p.m. at SUNY Cortland. 

PENFIELD-13 at CNS-10 - Peyton Rothfuss (5g/2a) and Jenna Capozzi (4g/2a) led the attack for Penfield, and goaltender Karis Hand had 10 saves to help secure the victory. With the win, the Patriots advance to the NYS class A finals, where they will face Suffern (Section I) in the championship game on Saturday.     [ Story and BOX SCORE]

strong>DAY IN REVIEW: WEDNESDAY - In a day of intense lacrosse action, No. 1 Victor edged No. 2 Pittsford 11-9 to claim its fourth consecutive Class B title. Julia Bruno had three goals to lead Victor. In class A, No. 1 Penfield extended its winning streak to seven games with a decisive 16-9 victory over No. 3 Rush-Henrietta to earn its first title since 2018. Whitney Reynolds and Jenna Capozzi each scored four goals and Peyton Rothfuss won a game-high 12 draw controls for Penfield; in defeat, Rush-Henrietta's Kate DeWald achieved her milestone 150th career goal and 300th career draw control.

RUSH-HENRIETTA-9 at PENFIELD-16 - Whitney Reynolds and Jenna Capozzi each had four goals and one assist, and Peyton Rothfuss won a game-high 12 draw controls to lead No. 1 Penfield to its first class A championship since 2018. Kate DeWald had four goals and two assists for No. 3 Rush-Henrietta. Penfield will take on Orchard Park (section VI) in the regionals on Saturday. # 1032  A Night of Lacrosse Showdowns
edging the Bruins by a score of 12-10. No. 1 Victor defeated No. 4 Irondequoit 14-6, setting up a Wednesday clash between the Blue Devils and the Panthers for the class B championship. In class C, No. 1 Pal-Mac and No. 3 Honeoye Falls-Lima both cruised to victory, and will face each other in the finals on Tuesday.

Brynn Henry had five goals and an assist for No. 4 Aquinas-WOIS, which finishes its season at 8-10. BRIGHTON-10 at PITTSFORD-12 -  No. 2 Pittsford built an early lead but was forced to fight off a fourth-quarter Brighton rally to secure the win. HONEOYE FALLS-LIMA-21 at GENEVA-1 - Shaye Angelo led No. 3 Honeoye Falls-Lima with six goals, three assists, and 14 draw controls. Velia DeMaria scored the lone goal for No. 2 Geneva.
